Since we have been linked to a few free agent and even some in trade, who would best fit with us.
A. Jamison- I was hyped to have him here, but he still a little indecisive, whether to chase a ring or settle in and mentor.
T. Hansborough- young and could fit our youth movement but not sure yet
B. Haywood- I would not mind, we need a center and he is younger than Jamison
L. Scola- Wouldn't mind him either
K. Humphries- don't know if that ship has sailed yet.
Others that came and gone
JJ Hickson- hoped for him but found other grounds
B. Lopez- re-signed with Nets
Can't say we have been sitting back letting the world go by this off season.

Jamison and haywood will probably both end up here. And after signing sessions and those 2 that will pretty much conclude the offseason.

I hope its not Jamison there is no upside to the move. He will be around 36 and a half by the time the season gets going so why waste a spot with a old as dirt vet when we can take a flyer on a younger guy and give him a opportunity and see if we can strike oil. J.J. Hickson would have been nice but Hansborough seems to fit like a glove and could be had cheap.

now that we let DJ walk, we can go get two big men, but both Haywood and Jamison. idk, rather Haywood and Scola

Jamison averaged 17.2 points a game last year.I don't exactly call that washed up.And even if we sign him just as a locker room presence he would still be very valuable to our young guys.

You aren't a fan of Hansbrough starting and he shot better than Jamison this year.
AJ got 17.2 on 16.1 Shots
TH got 9.3 on 7.3 Shots
Points Per FGa would be 1.068 vs 1.27 so if they swamped FGa it would be 7.8 PPG for AJ and 20.5 for TH.

That's not necessarily true, especially for bigs. With the more shots you take, the more you're likely to have diminishing returns. AJ is looking to take shots more than TH, who is getting points mostly off hustle and put backs.
Neither is a guy we want gunning at this point.

That isn't true with Hansbrough the more he shoots the better he is, when he gets 5 or less shots he can't do anything but when gets up over 10 or more he becomes far more effective.

If he takes 10 or more shorts it's probably just because more opportunities to put the ball back. If he started taking mid range jumpers, I don't think that's the case. Jamison does a lot more shooting.

I see that Greg Oden is not going to sit out 2012/2013. He will play. I would absolutely love to get him on a 2 year contract at a reasonable price. Best chance this team has to catch lightning in a bottle. If his knee is healthy and can hold up to play, could be a steal. Gotta think he can be had for cheap at this point. And he'd get some good playing time on the Bobcats. If you want a big, I'd take a shot at Oden.

I say we take a chance on Greg Oden... He wants to play this year. We could develop him/let him heal with his minutes in moderation throughout the season and hope he shows flashes of his OSU days. We could get him for cheap and it would bring some good publicity to Charlotte and it would be a great story if he has a good comeback. Plus I'd rather have him than Haywood, even thought I see Haywood everywhere I go in Charlotte for some reason lol.. Gettin wings, the book store, wherever lol.

Have you not watched him play in the NBA he shoots mostly jumpers, last year he was well over 40% of his shots coming from 15+ feet out and only 30% came at the rim.

Most of the jumpers i saw tyler take were with no one within 5 feet of him because someone else was being doubled.Tyler is a nice hustle guy on a 2nd unit. But i think he's garbage as a starter and is not even in the same league as jamison!

It doesn't matter much now if we get Hump but Hans shoots massive amount of long Jumpers and the only person getting doubled on the Pacers second unit was him any time he goes near the paint with Lou Amundson as his post partner.

Well we can just agree to disagree. We have a back up 4 in mullens who is 7 feet tall and can shoot from long.I would have no interest in tyler and doesn't appear our front office does either.

We have no idea what was talked about so we don't know if Hansbrough's name was even officially in talks or they wanted to stick us with Lou Amundson or something like that in a S&T. There is more to the story for sure since we couldn't even get a 2nd rounder or some cash for DJ.

I had thought about that and wouldn't have a problem with it.I just like haywood better. He's younger,he can rebound well,he's pretty good scoring around the rim,he's a legit 7 footer, and we could probably get him cheap because of him being amnestied.I think haywood just never meshed well with the system in dallas after carlyle came in.He's always looked like a very solid big to me.Is he a starter? Who knows. But i think he would be a damn good back up here.If it doesn't work out nazr would be ok i guess.

Well I'm doing my part in twitter recruiting Naz lol he could mentor Kidd-gilchrist some seeing as how he's very proud and involved with uk hoops still. I always loved Naz when he got heavy minutes he had some great games I think 20-20 game against the lakers once and he always seemed to be a boost in scoring off the bench.

If we got Scola, he'd by far and away be the best PF we've ever had.

I think either Jamison or Humphries goes to the Nets, but I'd be surprised if both go. They'd have to do a S&T for Jamison, though it has been discussed.
The only way we would have gotten Tyler Hansbrough was through a S&T with Indy for DJ, and that ship has now sailed. Scola will have plenty of offers for contenders, doubt we have a shot at him. Haywood has potential, but this would push Biyombo to PF, not sure I see Biyombo as effective at PF as I do at C, doesn't need to be anywhere near three point line or far out, down low would be better for him. A team like Dallas who has a PF like Dirk who can nail 3's, would really hurt him.
In the end I say we get one of these guys max. My bet is on Haywood. I don't see Oden coming here if he has any kinds of interest elsewhere, and unfortunately that's how I think a lot of players view us if they don't have connections here.

Peter Vecsey: ...and Nets working to re-up Humphries. Contrary to reports, there is no bidding war going on. He wants to return. $ & yrs being worked on 1 hour ago
Looks like he is going back to NJ, and doubt they would take on Jamison if he signs back.

Good info! So With Kwame gone and Humphries unlikely, that leaves Jamison, Scola, and Landry as available PF's, and Brendan and Darko at C.
This guy drafted a couple years ago and is on our Summer squad, sounds interesting; I'll be watchin' tonite!

How would you feel about Jordan Hill? 6'10'' / 235 pound PF that will turn 25 later this month that has had some off the court issues and hasn't yet cracked the potential he had coming out of Arizona. Could be a stronger version of Tyrus in his potential, but if the price is right, he still has some time to turn it around... especially with Dunlap's coaching style.

Hill actually did pretty well with LA, I would like him here. There were big expectations after college and I think a small market like us could suit him nicely as there is not as much pressure. Like you said, Dunlap could really bring the potential out of this guy and get his head in the right place. However, I have a feeling he would love Dunlap or hate him, not sure which way I would lean, it probably depends how many games we are winning. I would like him but for nothing more than 4mil a year

i follow nazr on twitter as well, he is definitely a great pro and mentor. from his posts, he still has a fondness for charlotte, although i'm not sure how much he likes the bobcats. i would be happy with him back, he really seems like a good influence, seems like he had the OKC kids over at his house at least once a week.

I thought about this kid when they drafted Thomas Robinson earlier this year. Very young and raw, but at least before his injury a very athletic big.
