YES! I understand we're loaded with guards and small forwards right now, but OJ is versatile and could be a big-time player for us. It may come down between him and Hendo, but honestly, if we got him, we may have something else up our sleeve in regards to a move that would allow us to collect another asset.

I don't think we'll get him and doubt we've even shown as much interest as the other teams... Then again, we're the only one out of that group under the cap apparently.

Free agent O.J. Mayo was in Phoenix on Friday, his first visit with one of multiple teams in the hunt for the Grizzlies’ shooting guard. Mayo’s agent said last week that the Rockets, Bulls, Celtics and Bobcats could be in the running for the four-year veteran. The Grizzlies declined to make a qualifying offer to Mayo and retain refusal rights, shifting Mayo’s status from restricted free agent to unrestricted. HoopsWorld

Interesting. But it does say that this information was from last week. I wonder if the Sessions signing ended our interest.

Oh, I didn't see that. I hope we're still interested but it makes sense because I read somewhere else that Mayo is looking for minutes exclusively at PG as well. So, if teams were looking at him in that fashion, then it makes sense why we were interested. I certainly hope we still are interested after the Sessions signing, even if it means amnestying or trading someone else, including Gordon.

I would expect Houston to make a hard run at him. Word is they're desperate for a point guard.

I like Mayo as a player/prospect but I don't think there is any room for him on this team

If his asking price is within reason, I'd say we should definitely make a play for him.......BUT I think the Sessions signing shows us that if there was interest in him by us it wasn't reciprocated.
