Free-agent forward Anthony Tolliver said Charlotte has emerged as a new suitor for him. “Charlotte reached out for the first time the other day,’’ Tolliver said Wednesday. “They’re really interested… They lost out on Carl Landry (who went to Golden State).’’ Tolliver has interest in the Bobcats. “They could use another veteran to put in there instead of just always throwing in rookies and not knowing what you’re going to get out of them,’’ Tolliver said.

I'm not familiar with the source, but HoopsHype used it, so I guess it's reliable.
Not particularly interested personally. He's a stretch 4 who is an average rebounder. I'd prefer Yi or Thomas.

Also worth mentioning, we signed him to a ten day contract back in 2009, but he never played.

didnt we try to sign him but he chose Minny over us?
I'd like him for the right price. He's a blue collar guy that had to earn a spot in the league. He'd fit in well with Dunlap.
He should come cheap, and we need a veteran. He'd add depth and will be decent insurance when Tyrus Thomas eventually implodes.

At this point just about anybody will be fine, as long as the player comes for really cheap and the contract is for only 1 season.

I wouldn't mind him too much. He did some damage to us when he was at Golden State. He's got range out to 3 and works hard. Good veteran to fill out the roster.

At this point, we needa body to throw out there. Anyone big and cheap will suit us. With Mully and Toliver out there we would launch way too many 3s from our bigs!

I don't know if he'll be cheap. It'll probably cost us an exception. I like the guy though, didn't he do a cover of lebron's 'the dissicion'? Hilarious.

I like Yi for his size, but he's got less skills than Tolliver. Tolliver never did much in Minny, but then there's that Love guy takin' up all the PF minutes there. Yeah, if he's cheap, why not. He might even do well with Dunlap...

Don't like even the thought of signing him . Would rather have the rookie in training camp . Or someone young for that matter , thet has a chance of becoming a building block . At best whats this guy going to do win win two more games for us . SEEMS LIKE HES JUST A UNPRODUCTIVE WASTE FOR OUR TEAM.

I feel the same way. Given what's left, I'd be fine with Tolliver. He has 3-pt range (though not the best ever last year) and may benefit from the type of basketball Dunlap intends to play.
Also, he pretty much nailed the reasoning when he talked about the uncertainty of rookies vs vet players. Tyrus and Byron certainly aren't rookies, but I think they both have enough question marks that it'd be wise to get a vet at that spot so you have an idea of what to expect.

I don't think Tolliver is targeted because of all those years he spent in the NBA. I believe the main reason to bring him to Charlotte is to help stretch the offence, and allow kemba and hendo to get to the basket more often.

He's looking for around 2 million a year per Hoopshype, also a 1-2 year deal which fits into the master plan:

I'd do more than 2 years if it was as low as 2 million per year. That's not a big risk.

We can only go to 2.6 million, but regardless after seeing what we're paying Taylor I expect the FO to negotiate the best deal possible for us.
Edit:
If we could get him for no higher than 1.9 million it can be covered under the bi-annual exception...leaving the full 2.575 million room exception to play with later. Since they can't be combined I'd push hard for that being my best offer.

Yi is a 3, not a 4.And he sucks.Alot! I'd rather bring back dj white.Has troy murphy signed anywhere? I'd like him for the right price.I just don't like the idea of bringing in a guy like tolliver who's not gonna be here long term.We need to find out what we have in mully and see if tyrus has anything left. It's not worth taking away minutes for a journeyman.

I can understand thinking Yi sucks, that's personal opinion and he's certainly no All Star, but to call him a small forward? That's slander I say!

If Cho thought Yi was any good we'd already had him on the team.

Well i know he was drafted as a 3, and jersey traded jefferson for him with the intention of playing the 3.He may have been used at the 4 since then because he can't hack it as a 3 at the pro level, but he was definitely being hyped as a 3 previously.

He has been a four as long as I can remember. That's why his lack of physicality is a knock on him, and why some teams tried him at the three, but he's just a soft four.

I'd prefer 6 walking fouls rolled up in a nice 6"10 body but even if FO sign Tolliver it isn't like he's gonna play much and T-Time and Mullens can both provide sufficient floor spacing at the 4. And on the Yi subject he was killing it the other day; single handedly kept China in the game against Spain.

Because he is lighting up the Olympics against those world power houses of Austrailia...

I'll have you know that Australia is a world powerhoue and it is perfectly respectable to get absolutely turned over by them whilst your star player scores 9 points..

Do you think the Bobcats would consider bringing in Donte Greene? He is still available and could provide versatility at the 4 position.

I'm not so high on Yi. In my opinion he has done nothing to prove he is as good as some people say. Did he even play in the NBA last two years? Greene on the other hand is one of my favorite players, to bad he didn't play much last year.

I'm reading Greene is actually a RFA. Dunno if the Kings would match if we were to bid.

I believe the Kings are going to move on without Greene since they drafted Robinson. The Kings are also at the salary cap limit, and would go over the cap if they decide to match and offer sheet on Greene. Here is an article on the Kings offseason: http://sports.yahoo.com/news/sacramento-kings-improved-offseason-fans-201500470--nba.html (http://sports.yahoo.com/news/sacramento-kings-improved-offseason-fans-201500470--nba.html).

According to Rotoworld, Anthony Tolliver states that the Wizards are"pursuing him harder than any other team." Does this mean CLT will miss out on another PF or will CLT pay more than the Wizards to get him? I am hearing that he is seeking about 2 million a year. If Anthony Tolliver signs withWashington then who does CLT look to sign at PF? I believe plan "E"at this point should be a guy like Donte Greene.
