So reports are coming out today that ucla may have improperly paid for recruiting visits for shabazz muhammed and he could possibly be ineligible.I'm guessing he would have to play overseas or just train and enter the draft after the season. Is there any way the NBA would grant a waiver and allow him to become a free agent if he is ineligible? Would we have any chance to get him now? Crazy stuff!

Rules state he'd have to be a year removed from graduating high school, so no, they wouldn't allow him to become a FA. If he's ineligible he'll go one of two routes:
1. Brandon Jennings (play overseas for a year)
2. Enes Kanter (don't play anywhere, train in America)

I think it would be good if they could play in the d league. Better than just not playing all year, that's just a waste of talent

Really don't want him to be a free agent cuz if that was the case, he can sign anywhere as long as there is money for him. Our best option to get a chance at him is thru the draft.

I think in order to join the league you must have declared for a draft and either been picked or past over. Swedd's right about what he'd likely do. My guess is play in Europe. Why pass over a couple of million just working out in the U.S.?

Well the sports academy he's been working with is in california and i think he'd be best served staying with them.Brandon jennings was talked about as the #1 pick in the draft until he played in europe and it made him drop quite a few spots. And the game overseas doesn't seem suited for most of these young guys.If he slips he'll cost himself what he would have made in europe.Possibly even more if it causes endorsers to shy away.I think he should just wait it out.And could he even play in the d-league? Isn't it under the NBA rules?

My bet it's he plays overseas if he is ineligible to party in the ncaa. I really hope that the bobcats chose him and don't chose Noel. Shabazz is going to be an all star in NBA.

If we have a choice between noel and muhammed i would bet every dime i would ever have in my life that jordan insists on taking a star 2 guard over a big man. When oden and durant came out he wanted durant so bad that he couldn't stand it.I doubt it would be much different this time around.

i am fully developing my fan-crush on andrew wiggins. in a perfect world, we cash in our lottery karma when he is in the draft. put him at the sg, mkg at the sf and we are in business.

he has the same name as the main character from ender's game, so i want it on record here, if he develops a reputation for being clutch, i came up with the nickname ender wiggins, even if i didn't actually.

Yep I have a full on man crush for Wiggins right now.
Nobody from next year's class that we'd be looking at is super enticing to me as a top pick. My favorite guys are either not high lottery hopefuls, or players who clash with our current youngins

I certainly respect your opinion but i don't see how anyone can look at muhammed and not see a potential kobe type player.

Watch some of his workouts he's done with his trainer at the academy.I posted 2 of them on here.If you watch him in those, he is just as athletic as anyone i've seen coming into the league(including kobe) and i think his jump shot is very good.I think you guys are both gonna end up eating crow on this kid.Just sayin!

I think you're remembering the more recent Kobe than the young version that had knees

definitely not saying it would be the worst thing in the world to end up with him at sg.

No i'm not.I'm old enough that i remember when jordan was at carolina. I've watched kobe every year that he's played. I just think that muhammed is an insane athlete and that he will be a true superstar. Am i saying that he will have the kind of career that kobe has? No. But i think within 5 years of being in the league he'll be a top 5 player and the kind of star who drastically changes a franchise. I'm 100% sold on him.

Andrew Wiggins will dominate the NBA.. more so than Shabazz and Nerlins, I believe.

Damn. The rim is still 10ft right? They didn't lower it or anything? Kid has ups. Definately. Still I didn't see him pass the ball to anybody...

And he's still at least 2 years away from the draft. Maybe 3

I've seen limited play from Shabazz, but what I have seen is that killer instinct and drive that helps a kid dominate rather than just be a "good" franchise player. One of the top kids with that "it" factor that I've seen since 'Melo, Rose, Durant and Oden.... though the latter was obviously an injury nightmare.
