Our 3rd game of the regualr season is against the new look Phoenix Suns who have started 1-3 so far this campaign.

With Hendo being injured i would expect Gordon to start which should give more playing time to MKG !. MKG has made a solid start to his NBA career showing us his all round skills on offense and especially defense, he has 5 steals and 3 blocks in 2 games !.

The Suns defense are conceding over 103 PPG so far this season so we should be confident of scoring points, its just weather we can defend like we did against the Pacers ?

I think we have a decent shot tomorrow night.. like you said, it will depend a lot on the play of the defense. I also think Gordon having starters mins might prove to be fruitful for us scoring-wise.

Gordon to space the floor, thus taking some of the load/pressure off Mulens if his shot isn't falling and giving MKG & Kemba more space to drive into!

But as you say SJackson1, in the end we have to play well on Defence. Hold them under 100 points, while scoring over 100 ourselves!

Per Bonnell the Suns give up the 3 but Gortat leads the league in blocks. Gordon need to bring his A game and hopefully our drivers recognize their strength. Hopefully the outsides shot fall tonight. We're due right?

I hope Dunlap starts Gordon and not Sessions. I like Kemba at the point and Gordon hitting the three's.

Looks like I have two extra tickets for tonight. If anybody wants them pm me. They're free and pretty good seats (section 103). I have actual printouts as they were a gift. I'll meet you before the game and give them to you. You'll have to sit next to me and my buddy, though. :)

I'll check my messages before I get off work today.

MKG will benefit from us spreading the floor becasue he will get more space to go to the basket.

Sounds like Sessions, Taylor, or Carroll will start (there are conflicting reports, but no Gordon).

LOL! Guy was unreal.

I'd loved to have won the game but I was entertained, which is a helluva lot more that can be said about last season. Kemba/Sessions/MKG/Tyrus/Mully and even Biz all had some good moments. I think we also saw why Dunlap has had Taylor tied to the bench...kid has a little ways to go.

totally agree. there was some negativity in the chat, but things are soooo much better than last years blowouts. i don't know enough about basketball defense to really comment too much on the zone, but as a fan, it is a frustrating defense to watch.

I joke a lot on here but I wasn't kidding when I posted in the Hendo thread that "there went our top 5 defense". Only MKG & Kemba can match his intensity on this roster and they aren't enough. I actually thought this game would be a lot worse; terrible D and us shooing like 30%.

Cody Zeller's post offense would REALLY help this team.

A lot of posters will rant & rave even though this is exactly what we asked for...for our team to be more entertaining, to compete on a nightly basis, and to keep the top 3 pick alive. Kemba is proving to be starting quality as a PG, MKG is showing flashes of his game-changing ability, and Biz is coming along slowly but surely. Even Sessions, Gordon, and Haywood are delivering on their experience to help the young guys compete along the way. I'm not complaining, but at the same time I don't want to see JT start the next game either.

I agree, same goes for Nerlens Noel's post defense. This upcoming NCAA basketball season will determine which route should the Bobcats go. Cody for offense. Nerlens for defense.

I'm kinda new into this whole Bobcats online community but I was lurking over at RealGM and I'm trying to figure out what's up with all of the Kemba hate? Is 17 points, 8 assist, and zero turnovers a bad game? I'm starting to believe that some of those guys aren't Bobcats fans and instead are Henderson fans that have an agenda to shoot down any notion that another player on the roster might be better than him.

it's cause he doesn't spin move between half court and the 3 point line before setting up the play.

They like to pick favorites which a lot of times leads to overly putting down the other players. It's not uncommon on a lot of boards except this one. I stopped posting on the CLT section a long ago.

Bonnell's blog blows my mind a lot more. People will wait and post only after losses just to say "see, I TOLD you soandso was a bust! Bobcats suck! yadayadayada.". That to me is one weird sort of individual that would get pleasure trolling a freaking blog like that.

On Bonnell's blog there are also a ton of still bitter anti-arena commenters that pounce on the chance to post anything negative related to the Bobcats

I wouldn't mind if we took Noel but I think Zeller would be perfect for this team. He can be what we have been hoping Mullens would turn into. That's not to say that I'm upset with Mullens, but he could be a force inside if he wanted. I see Noel as a more fundamentally polished Biz. He can make some great blocks on help defense but will struggle in post defense. His offensive game is further along than Biz but still very weak. We need someone who can score from the inside and that is Zeller. I also think that Dunlap will work hard with him on rebounding and post defense. I think Zeller is the perfect fit for this team.

That being said, I don't see any of the three (Zeller, Noel, or Biz) being a C. Noel may be the closest to being able to pass as a C but would do pretty well at PF. I think Zeller would be a great 4 and we would be a couple years and a 2 and 5 away from being a great team. Kemba/??/MKG/Zeller/??. That's a solid lineup and for anyone who doesn't think Kemba is the PG of the future, I'm telling you to wait until we have guys who can knock down shots and someone who can score inside. Kemba could get 4 or 5 assists a night at the minimum just by having a guy inside who can finish. Then he could add several more if MKG can find a consistent shot and we have a SG who can stroke it.

We need someone to rebound. we had a few people with decent rebound numbers but as a team we were out rebounded by 12.

Haywood and Mullens have to have the slowest and flattest feet in the league. They are very often beaten to the rim. Bismack and TT are quicker but nearly always out of position. Not breaking news I know; but it will remain a critical problem until relief arrives.

It's not good when you have two 7 footers starting and you're rookie small forward is the only guy you can rely on for post defense.
