this trade gives the jazz space and the ability to let Enes Kanter start. Gives Bobcats all star center and serious playoff contender.

Honestly we're not giving up enough in that deal.

They would never take those players. All their players are expiring and ours have horrible contracts, plus Jefferson could walk in free agency so we would give ours up for nothing. On conclusion, that would never ever happen

I get where everyone is coming from. Of course this is a hopeful trade but with the emergence of big Jeff, what about hendo. Should we move him? We're not going to win anything with Haywood (event though I like the way he plays)

i predicted before the season that hendo would be traded and i still think he should be. outside of a package that includes hendo, sessions and a first we have zero shot at jefferson. and i don't think that would do it either.
al jefferson will be in too high demand for anything we could reasonably offer.
my goal if i were cho would be to move hendo, diop, sessions and warrick for as many 2 year deals and picks or good young talent as possible.

I think there is a possability we trade Hendo as he is our most valuable piece. But lets also remember he is expiring so people will probably not give up that much to get him incase he bolts to another team during FA. The again, part of me thinks the franchicse have Hendo in mind long term. Look at the Bobcats wallpapers on their site. Kemba, Hendo and Biz... That tells you something straight away, also Hendo seems to like being here and has a great relationship with MJ. I wouldnt be surprised if Hendo stuck around to be our 6th man off the bench, he seems to like Charlotte and Charlotte likes him. I am not saying this is the correct decision, just an observation

we could trade him in a S&T and i think that will be the way it happens. either way the team getting him would be able to sign him to a QO next year, so it would be for a season and a half. still good value there.
remember though at one time felton, crash, mek and jax were all "face of the franchise" guys who didn't come back and crash, mek and jax were all traded while having promotional materials with their face on it.

I don't think S&T's are allowed anymore in the new CBA

i think you are right. i meant doing whatever houston just did with harden, unless it is too late for that. the other team could get him on a qualifying offer then be able to offer him the 5 year deal.

Yeah I mean any team can trade for Hendo and they'd have his bird rights, so even if they don't immediately sign him to an extension (not possible since that deadline has passed) they are still the only team capable of signing him to a QO.
Trading for Hendo (and Harden) at the beginning of the season is a safer trade since you can go ahead and lock them up to an extension, but now you run the risk of him being unhappy and not signing a QO... which means Hendo's value is lower now than it would've been.

We can S&T him after the season when he becomes a RFA but not before. The rules changed for the receiving team in regards to their cap position but they are still allowed.
What Swedd said is how I interpret the situation too.
