this is my opinion, on this years draft

We get the first pick (Stern hooks us up after last year)

We pick... Mclemore assuming things staying the same

If we don't have first pick and hes not there we take... Shabazz

With the 14th pick (from blazers) we.... trade down

to 17-18-19 not sure what exactly we get but maybe a second rounder from said team

with 18th pick we take.... Kelly Olynyk

opinions?

Best I can tell, that gives us a nice scoring boost from both inside and out. I like Olynyk so far. But it doesn't address our rebounding concerns.

So you clearly like McLemore more than Shabazz?? I thought Shabazz was still considered the best.

Doesn't McLemore have some question marks about his size/length?? (6'4.5" in shoes, 6'7" wingspan. Not on the high end for a SG)

How about trade the 14 pick down for the 18-19 pick and a current rotation player?? (someone who can rebound??)

I just don't see a lot of value in a 2nd round pick.

About trading the picks: lets assume Stern screws the Cats again, and we get 3/4, and lets assume the Suns get 4/5, and lets assume they get their pick from the Lakers at 11/12 and we get POR at 13/14.... alot of assuming i know ;) Would it makes sense to trade down the lottery pick (with the Suns) in order to trade up the mid 1st rounder?

my feeling is that it is a 4 person draft. mclemore, bazz, noel and bennett. maybe even a 3 person draft. so it is paramount we stay in the top 4 or get quite a haul for trading out.

I tottaly get where your coming from and agree with you. i really like olynyk's game inside and out with a good jumper. i believe that rebounding can definetely be worked on but i bet we can make strides on that. and about Mclemore i am completely in love with this guys game. We need a SG (i know bazzy is to) but Mclemore has a LIGHTS OUT 3 ball and great athleticism. i see Bazzy as very good jumper, good athleticism same defensive abilities. personally i look at the floor and i think Mclemore's is higher becuase WORST case hes a lights out 3 point specialist good for 15 a game (a much better current ben gordon) and bazzy could fade because he doesnt have one facet of his game that is dominant. tell me what you think id like to hear your response because dont get me wrong i think bazzy is a great prospect who i would not be upset with getting at all.

I just want to make sure that when we draft, we actually look for a QUALITY big man. I would rather us use 1st pick on Noel or Len and then trade down and draft CJ Leslie.

I see where your coming from but in MY opinion i dont see a quality big in this draft with the exception of Len. this is top 10 of course. i dont see a big worth a top 7 pick and will either be 1-2-3 at worst

Watching this game against the Bulls, we have to find a way to get Noel and Bennett.

Honestly, I'm still feeling those guys out. Just asking questions and I'm here to learn from you. I am a bit of a length freak and Shabazz just looks like a man already with tremendous length(according to the numbers). I always get nervous about drafting guys with size issues. Thanks.

That would be a sweet effin' draft, based on the first half of the college season. Man, so many needs could be met in those two.

My only slight concern is the fact that they might play the same position(4), but hopefully Noel could grow into the Center spot physically, and perhaps Bennett is more of a combo F than a straight PF anyway.

Agreed. And I highly doubt it would happen. But it was clear in that game that we desperately need post players. Bennett could be a stretch 4 that would contribute immediately. Noel would be more of a project C. He may have to play PF to start, but pack some meat on him and let him develop slowly. He will be a dominant C in just a few years.

At the very least, I would be happy with a Noel-CJ McCollum draft. CJ McCollum could tear it up off the bench and I think he will be fine running the point off the bench with NBA caliber players beside him. Then use that cap space to get a young, developing 4 (through trade or FA).

CJ McCollum is insanely gifted offensively. If he was 2-3 inches taller he would be the number one player drafted imo.

Would love to have him coming off the bench as a scoring combo guard.
