European players are the ultimate risk/reward draft picks, You could wind up with the next Dirk, or you could wind up with some vodka drinking, cigarette smoking wannabe baller thats out of the league in one season. I don\'t think I\'d have the stomach to draft him unless he does some truly insane stuff in his team workouts.

I just ran across these numbers from game 1 of the Italian playoffs. Check out the 14 trips to the line in only 28 minutes.

Andrea Bargnani
20 points (3/6 FG - 2/4 3p - 12/14 FT)
5 rebounds
1 block
2 steals
10 fouls drawn
28 minutes

28 minutes Those are nice numbers, but what was the level of competition over there?? Definitely not the level of talent that Rudy Gay, Lamarcus Aldridge and Adam Morrison have been going up against for the last few years.

Heres a rumor that I ran across on Chicagosports.com earlier today. Apparently, Bryan Colangelo is gunning for Bargnani, and he may be trying to go back door and get Bargnani to state that he will only play for the Raptors this year. Colangelo hired the assistant general manager for Benneton Treviso as an assistant coach, and this is being called a move that could secure Bargnani for them. The article says that Bargnani may let it out that he will stay in Europe unless he is drafted by the Raptors.
