I\'ve been reading some evaluations on him and many of them have him listed as a potential SG/SF. If the Bobcats draft him as a shooting guard then I\'m all for it. Playing him at the SG will allow the Bobcats to keep Gerald Wallace at small forward which is Crash\'s perfect position.

I see your point on playing Rudy Gay at the shooting guard spot IF the Bobcats draft him, I don\'t want to play Gerald Wallace out of position, since he kicked ass at the SF spot this year, BUT does Rudy Gay have the handle to play the SG position, I think that defensively he\'d be OK, but according to scouting reports , offensively his ball handling was supposed to be one of his few weaknesses.

I get the feeling that hes #2 on Bernie\'s list behind Lamarcus Aldridge, Bernie likes athletic big men that can play defense ( LMA ), but he also has a serious jones for long athletes that can lock people down defensively, and thats Rudy\'s calling card.
Also Rudy is one of those players that is going to knock people\'s socks off in private workouts.

Weak draft, wasted pick.

The Bobcats will be drafting high enough so that they don\'t really have to worry about the draft being weak, or lacking depth, If there are only 5 good players and the Bobcats get one of them and the other 25 teams are S.O.L. then that works in our advantage

Heres an update from draftexpress concerning Rudy Gay.. It sounds like all of the criticism that he received for playing soft has made him angry, and now hes playing with a chip on his shoulder. Also he called out Adam Morrison, Tyrus Thomas and Brandon Roy. He wants to work out against all three players to prove that he deserves to be the #1 pic

New to the group. I like hearing that he has a chip on his shoulder. That is what I did like about Morrison. He hates to lose. If Rudy has that attitude now, I like him at #3

Ohara831,
Welcome to the Board!!!
If Rudy Gay could somehow gain Adam Morrison\'s attitude and intensity, he would be an unstoppable force once he gets to the NBA. On Morrison, I think that once he gets to the NBA hes going to prove a lot of people wrong, and show that he deserved to be a top pick.
Once again Welcome to the Board.

If not Gay, I like Roy as a clear 2, I like Thomas next, but he would be repetitive for us. I do not like LMA - too likely to be a bust. I could stand taking the big man from Italy, but not as happy with him as Roy and Thomas. What do you think

I think that Rudy Gay is the type of athlete that Bernie Bickerstaff fiends for. The only problem is between him and Crash, somebody is going to have to play out of position. Brandon Roy is my 2nd pick, he\'d be a perfect fit for the bobcats lineup, but his ceiling isn\'t as high as Gay\'s

Brandon Roy is the best shooting guard in the draft, and shooting guard is our biggest area of need, so why play games with the pick. Lets make the pick that makes the most sense.

Chocolatee and Heelfan: I like them both. How disappointed would you be if Bernie took Morrison? It would not be the end of the world, he is OK - a good scorer. How do you feel about the big man from Italy?

His defense on the other hand is nothing to brag about, and thats putting it kindly.

It\'s LMA, Carney, Roy, Gay or bust for us in the draft.
If we walk away from draft night having added Morrison, Thomas or Bargnani it\'ll be worse than taking McMay at #13 last year when Green, Granger, Wright and Graham were still on the board.

Big Slam,
I\'ve seen a few evaluations of LaMarcus Aldridge where he was being compared to Brad Sellers. Needless to say, these evaluations do not give me a warm and fuzzy feeling about potentially making him a Bobcat with the #3 pick.

Psycho,
I don\'t believe what I read when it comes to evaluations. One of them might have been written by a meat head like Chad Ford.
I trust what I see with my own eyes.
LMA will have the offense of Tim Duncan with the athletic ability of Bosh all while having some solid D. Not Ben Wallace D or Marcus Camby D, but solid D and if he can bulk up, the sky\'s the limt

Big Slam,
I believe that LMA will have the athleticism of Bosh, but he didn\'t show me anything at Texas that would make believe that he\'ll develop into the offensive force of a Tim Duncan. LMA had a bad habit of disappearing in some of his games, I know that he didn\'t have the world\'s greates guards feeding the post, but those single digit games still happened way too often for my taste.

LMA can score in a varitey of ways. He can post, face up or score with his back to the basket. He can work in close or step out to 18ft and knock down J\'s. He can also score from all angles and uses the glass really effectively ala Duncan. That\'s where I drew the comparison from.
I\'m glad you pointed out the guard situation at Texas Heel Fan. Gibson just out and out sucked. If he had any idea at all of how to run a team LMA would have had 10 more points a game while giving himself 6 or 7 more assists a game. Gibson has next to no vision and rarely looked for LMA even though LMA worked his ass off.
LMA would more often than not beat the guards down the court and start the break and rather than getting him the rock for the easy lay up or dunk, Gibson would hold the ball up and allow the D to collapse on LMA.
Seriously, I\'m not riding his jock (I\'m more of a Carney fan), but LMA will by far prove to be the best of the big men in this draft.
2nd best will be Cedric Simmons.

Does anybody know if anyone from the Observer or some other media outlet will be there to cover Rudy\'s workout tomorrow, or will it be locked down to keep the results of the workout a mystery to everyone but the Bobats and Gay?
