I know, I know, the big name free agents are all going to be in 2007, but we have a ton of cap space this offseason and we\'re going to have to spend that money on somebody.
I\'d like to see the Bobcats go after Joel \"The Vanilla Gorilla\" Przybilla. He averages over 2 blocks a game while playing only limited minutes. Adding him to our lineup along with a returning Emeka Okafor and drafting Rudy Gay could truly make us one of the best defensive teams in the league.
Who would everyone else like to see?

As an international Bobcats fan, i\'d like to see Carlos Delfino or Arvydas Macijauskas in Bobcats roster although they both aren\'t free agents. But both are unhappy with the current progress in their teams.
They would make important contributions to our backcourt.

I agree with you wholeheartedly on Carlos Delfino, hes very underrated. In fact Joe Dumars said in an interview recently following Detroit\'s loss to the Pistons that he was dissappointed that Delfino didn\'t get more playing time during the season.
Once again Welcome to the board.

I\'m from Turkey, it might be surprising for you to hear that:) . I was a longtime NBA fan but i wasn\'t supporting any team a few years ago. When i heard that a new franchise is awarded to Charlotte, i decided to set it as my favorite team. I might be the first Bobcats fan in the world(at least the first international one), when i started supporting Bobcats, it wasn\'t even Bobcats(Flight, Dragons or Bobcats times). All in all, i accidentally became a Bobcats fan, but i\'m now proud of it. I try to follow everything about Bobcats and that\'s why i registered this website.
Go Bobcats

We\'d probably have to give up BK, Ely, Wallace and the #3 pick to get Garnett, And if we did that we wouldn\'t have enough left on the roster to be a contending team like KG is looking for.
The best of a bad bunch!!
The ones I think would suit us the best:
Marcus Banks - would allow us to trade BK and provide a great, young back up PG. Probably wants starters mins though.
Jannero Pargo - Maybe a much more realistic option than Banks.
John Salmons - Poor mans Roy, can be had for cheap and give us some SG depth and play some big point. I\'d rather Salmons than Ando.
Rasual Butler - Only if we can\'t resign JuJo. Bulter would provide shooting off the bench.
Toni Kukoc - Vet leadership, outside shooting, rebounding, played in one of the best programs of all times (the unbeataBULLS) and would be dirt cheap.
Boniface N\'Dong - I love big blue collar 7ft shot blockers and think we need a Hunter/Diop/N\'Dong type for our 2nd unit.

For free agents this off season, How about Nazr Muhammed, Supposedly he wants out of San Antonio because he wants a bigger role on the team? He can run the court and he would be a nice defensive and rebounding upgrade from Primoz.

I wasn\'t too familiar with this guy, so I looked him up on Yahoo and found these stats
Boniface N\'Dong
Height: 7-0 Weight: 198
That HAS to be a missprint, Right??? 7 feet tall and 198 pounds??? Is he on a water and ex-lax diet???

Although he is only listed at 205lbs, he seems more thick set than someone like Chandler (who is listed at 235lbs).
He\'s more of a Hunter/Garnett sort of size.
I\'d be insterested to put him on a scale today and see what he records. 205lbs just seems wrong.
Either way, dude is a pretty good shot blocker and would be a nice addition to the big man rotation.
Like I said, I\'d LOVE to get my hands on Hunter (I was vocal last summer about getting him when he was a FA) but N\'Dong might be a nice, cheap alternative.

ummmm, yeah... bulked up slightly... That guys been taking steroids, growth hormones, injecting monkey testosterone and anything else that he can find. I think its a safe assumption to believe that hes on the juice.
But, back on topic
Big Slam and a few others have mentioned John Salmons, I haven\'t had the chance to watch him play very often so I checked out his stats. He shoots 42% from the field and 29.9% from three point range. Statistically, taking his 25 minutes a game into account there isn\'t anything that jumps out at me.
But I trust that you guys that have watched him play are seeing something that makes you feel that he will fit in with the Bobcats.
Tell me about this guy.
I really see him as a poor man\'s Roy Ziggy. He can honestly play some point and at 6\'7\", it would be a nice contrast to Felt\'s size. He would only be a bench player but considering how weak we are at the SG position, I\'d take him on.
I\'d have him over Anderson that\'s for sure.
Salmons has nice court vision and passing ability and seeing as though he was on a team with AI and CWebb I wouldn\'t expect him to put up great numbers considering the amount of shots those two take.
I\'d like to see either Childress, JR Smith or Salmons added to the roster this summer (in that order of preference).

If the Bobcats go big in the draft this Wednesday and somehow wound up with Lamarcus Aldridge, How would you guys feel about adding James Posey through free agency for some added wing depth.
He can opt out of his contract this summer and may be available for the MLE.

I think we need to wait until 2007 and add depth and a scorer off the bench. We may be able to get Richard Jefferson and we could have Rudy Gay for the future if not we could go after Nene for depth. We should get Rudy Gay because of defense, upside and we wouldn\'t have to deal with health issues should they arrive with Adam Morrison.

Charlie,
Do you think that Rudy will be able to improve his handle to the point where he can play shooting guard full time. If thats the case, then hes the right pick, If theres any doubt that he can play the 2, then I wouldn\'t draft him, because hes a duplication of Wallace.
On the free agency side, I would pass on Richard Jefferson because hes had issues with Gerald Wallace in the past and theres no need to introduce potential chemistry problems.

Posey has a player option on his contract this year at about $6.5mil (from memory).
Considering he just won a ring with the Heat, I can\'t see him opting out and if he did, it would mean he would want more than $6.5mil - which he is not worth.
Ideally I\'d rather add JR Smith (especially now Jordan is on board), Rasaul Butler or DerMarr Johnson who can drain the long ball or John Salmons who can play some tall point to add depth.

I actually thought that Posey would be MORE attainable since he won his ring. My feeling was he would think that he has his ring, now he can go get his money, But I read an article earlier today where he said that hes really looking forward to returning to the Heat so he can help defend their championship, so it looks like Posey is off the free agency board.

Carmelo is off the board for 2007, he just agreed to resign for the Max with the Nuggets.
Jason terry is also off the board for 2006, He agreed to a six year deal with the Mavs.

This proves that the Bobcats front office shouldn\'t put all of their eggs in one basket. All we\'ve been hearing about is how we\'re saving cap space for the free agent class of 2007, but by that time all of the superstars may have signed with their old teams ( Wade, Melo, Lebron ). And there aren\'t any guarantees that you\'re going to be able to sign guys that are a few notches below them, like Vince Carter or Antwain Jamison.
They need to focus on getting better NOW instead of banking on \'07.
