Is it time to stick a fork in the Detroit Pistons if they let Ben Wallace slip away to the Chicago Bulls. With Big Ben being the heart and sould of the Pistons for the past 5 years, I just don\'t see how they can contend without him.

They will still be a contender in the east for years with Rip, Billips and Prince they still will have a strong team in the east.

Psycho has a point. Without Big Ben, they won\'t have that edge that they have now. They\'ll be 4 or 5 seed in the east at best.

They still have very talented players. I say they\'ll still be in the top 3 seeds in the East.

The Wicked witch is DEAD!!!
Ben Wallace has agreed to sign with the Chicago Bulls and that means that Detroit\'s run a contender is over

In the Eastern Conference, The Heat and the Bulls are going to be the two teams to beat. With the addition of Ben Wallace, Tyrus Thomas and Rodney Carney the Bulls are loaded

They won\'t lose their offensive power, but defensively they will never be the 2004 championship team again. Ben Wallace was the heart of the team and no way they can replace him. IMO, they should spend their money to create a deeper bench.

But they will remain as one of the top clubs in the East. Still they can reach the East Semifinals next year.

IMHO, they may be better off without him, tamburello is right that defensively they will probably suffer. But they\'ll be way better on the offensive end without Ben\'s crappy offensive game and beyond crappy free throw shooting.

Hot Rod was a draft night swap with Thabo Sefolosha and the Sixers.

Ben Wallace leaving the Pistons means that the Miami Heat are guaranteed a cakewalk through the Eastern Conference playoffs next season and a repeat trip to the NBA Finals. They have no legitimate challengers in the East now.
