I\'ve seen several new users sign up with Ammo and Zags in their names recently I was one of the people wavering over whether it was best for the Bobcats to draft Rudy Gay or Adam Morrison. OK you Zags and Ammo fans, convince me we did the right thing.

Well overall I think the reason AMMO was taken over gay was because he is ready to play now, where as Gay has a ton of potential but could end up a bust. As for being a star Morrison can flat out score. I believe that he will average at least 20ppg as a rookie and will only improve. He can also make his teammates better through passes and through his emotion. He is a true leader on the court. He is the kind of player that will dive for every loose ball and won\'t get down on his teammates. I\'ve seen him play live two times and take my word for it the television does not show the true intensity and emotion he brings to the game. The only problems with his game are his rebounding and his defense. One of his rebounding problems is he does not follow his shots which with coaching I think can be fixed. And his Defense is just bad, the only time he plays good defense is when the ball is stolen from him, then he hustles back to stop the fast break. Anyway he is a true leader and scorer and that is why I believe he will have no problem becoming a star in this league.

I was hopeing the cats picked Morrison because of how he can help the cats now.I look to see 14 to 40 pts a game from him. I think he can stop those 7min times, with out a score this year.
Whos going to be the best him or GAY it could be GAY . That guy may be may the next super star.

Adam hates to lose, not dislikes it, he absolutely hates to lose at anything. Living in Spokane I\'ve been fortunate to follow his entire career at GU and he is the most competeive player I\'ve seen in the college ranks in years and I watch alot of roundball.
He is basketball smart, although a rookie he has a court presence that will surprise both his teammates and opponents.
He\'s a scoring machine, he\'ll have his off nights but they will be few and far between.
People knock his defense but he is capable of stepping up and making the big stop or hard foul when necessary.
The fact that I\'m here now doing this, me a long time Sonics fan, on this site tells you how fans are drawn to this unique talent. Now I have to buy the NBA ticket to cheer on my other team in Charlotte.
This is only my opinion it\'s Adam Morrison who will convince you what a great pick Charlotte made.

He\'ll be a star because of his image for one, for two he\'ll get the chance to shoot cause Bernie will let his shooters shoot, no matter how off they may be (Kareem Rush), and third with Okafor and May and Primo down low, teams will be afraid to double down, leaving him one on one to do his thing.
The man can score, and that\'s what this team needs. People criticize his defense, but look at what you got around him. Felton is a good on ball defender, Wallace led the league in steals, BK was 2nd in the league in steals, Okafor is a great shotblocker/enforcer, and at least Primoz is seven feet so he can alter a shot or two. Team defense is the thing in the NBA....you don\'t see a ton of isolations in every game. Wallace will guard the other teams best perimeter scorer, so if you want to go at Morrison, you\'re going to take the ball out of your best scorer\'s hands, and I don\'t mind that if I\'m Bernie. For example, look at the lakers. If you want to take Lamar Odom against Morrison and exploit it go ahead. If Kobe isn\'t getting his because of that, fine with me, more times than not I\'m going to win that battle.

Bigblahla, Welcome to the Board!!! I think that you\'re right on the button about people being drawn to him. Hes going to be one of those players that his teamates and the Bobcats fans love, but also one that opponents and their fans hate... but secretly wish that they had on their team:)

( and thanks for your patience with the login problem) :P
I didn\'t think about that, but thats an excellent point, as good of a defender as Gerald Wallace is, If the Bobcats were playing the Lakers, I\'d take my chances with Lamar Odom isolating Morrison over Kobe isolating Gerald ( or Kobe against anybody for that matter ).

Welcome to the board cltblkhscoach and Blabla lol I think thats right.

Thats how I feel about Kobe....but he is my favorite player so I will cheer for him reguardless, the same thing goes for Iverson. But Morrison already has shoe deals and commercials before he was even drafted.

If/when we go up against the Lakers and Crash is defending Kobe and Ammo is defending Lamar....................we are going to get SMOKED!!
Crash is NOT A GOOD ONE ON ONE defender. He\'s a seriously good help defender - in fact he and AK47 are the best two in the league at it - but when it comes to on the ball defending, he\'s not so hot.
Plus it\'s Kobe......what are you gonna do??
But if I had to make a choice between Crash guarding Kobe and Ammo guarding Lamar, the Crash deal starts to look pretty good.
How the hell is Ammo (6\'8\") going to guard Lamar (6\'10) when Lamar starts shooting over the top of Ammo and his 30\" vertical?

If the Lakers are matched up against Bobcats and they decide that Ammo is the weak link defensively and they want to isolate Lamar Odom against him, then I\'m still OK with that. Its better than letting them run their normal offense with the ball in Kobe\'s hands. If the ball is in Kobe\'s hands, then the game is over, theres nothing defensively that anybody can do... and I\'m not a Kobe fan.
Ammo\'s defense, or lack there of, is going to make average players look like all stars and all stars look like immortals.

He\'ll be able to figure out a way to play defense in the NBA, there are other guys slower than him and with less of a vertical than him that have survived defensively... Hell, if Muggsy Bogues could make it 10 years in the league without getting killed defensively, then I\'m sure Ammo won\'t have a problem.
When Bird csme in the league his defense was poor at best, but he figured it out.

\"One interesting/amusing story, though. According to Gonzaga coach Mark Few, last season Morrison had an uncanny knack for asking to sit out practice drills due to his blood-sugar numbers only when they happened to be defensive drills. His numbers were always fine on offensive drills, Few recalls, so he finally had the team start shooting free throws and doing \"fun stuff\" during Morrison\'s breaks until he could get back on the court. Then they\'d work on defense again.
I\'m still trying to get my hands on one of Ammo\'s favorite T-shirts -- \"IF IT WASN\'T FOR OFFENSE I\'D PLAY DEFENSE\" -- for the rec-league game I play in. Alas, Ammo stopped wearing it. \"Coach Few doesn\'t like that one,\" Morrison told me. \"I used to wear it, but I figured if I wanted to go somewhere in my career I had to get rid of that attitude.\"

Medzag, Welcome to BobcatsPlanet!!!:) :P  :)
Its interesting to get the perspective of someone that really knowws Ammo, Heres one thing that I\'ve been curious about. I\'ve heard reports where hes been described as down to earth and a nice guy etc.. but I\'ve also heard some other people describe him as an egomaniac and the biggest asshole on the planet.
Which one do you find is more true??

Hi Gang - Zag\'s season ticket holder here. HUGE AMMO FAN! Probably my favorite B\'Ball player of all time and I\'m getting old!!!!! Anyway, one other thing I would like to point out about Adam is his love of winning and TEAM. In the years that I have watched him - I doubt that I ever saw him as excited about one of his shots as I have over a game winner from one of his teammates! Especially if he got the dish! He will bring a passion and desire to his teammates that will raise them all to another level. I read that one of the things he is most excited about is playing with guys from winning programs that want to win and know how to win. Coach B was also talking about that on ESPN tonight. That will be a huge bonus. You guys are in for such a treat - try to catch as many games in person as you can because TV doesn\'t do Adam justice. He is truly amazing and brings an energy to the game that has been lacking in general in the NBA. Have fun, enjoy and please provide lots of info for us AMMO junkies that will be checking in here often..... CHEERS

zaggystardust, Welcome to the board!!!!
And thanks for the insight on Adam Morrison from a Gonzaga perspective.
Most of the people here are excited about adding Ammo to the Bobcats, there are a few that are still upset that we didn\'t draft Rudy Gay, but we\'ll have those people drinking the Ammo Kool-Aid before long.:P

Although I won\'t be able to give you the in-depth description ziggy did I\'ll give you my thoughts on Adam for someone who watched him his entire college carrer.
Since his first year, Adam has always been a gamer. His first tournament, Adam was one of the Zag\'s best players. It was amazing to watch this first year kid playing such a high level of basketball on such a big stage. This was so far back, Adam had his head shaved at the time.
Gonzaga in the last decade or so has produced a lot of good players. Matt Santangelo, Dan Dickau, Blake Stepp, Rony Turiaf. Although all these players we\'re stars at Gonzaga Adam was defintley in a league of his own. The thing that really made me become such a huge fan of Adam\'s had to do a lot with just the intaginables he brings to the court. He understands the game of basketball so well that it really sets him apart from other players. He\'s able to read a play 30 seconds away and be in the right position to make it happen. Not only this, but Adam\'s passion to the game is amazing as well. There is no Kwame Brown 2 in this guy, he is just plain and simple a gamer. Sometimes his will to win alone can carry him, it\'s something you can\'t teach. As a person off the court Adam is way above his years. Although we\'d all like to see a few more smiles and humour from Adam, he defintley can handle himself in front of other people. He must\'ve been asked a million times about his diabetes this year and he always gave the same polite answer.
Everyone is now aware of Adam\'s skill, how he can get his shot off and how scoring points will not be a problem. Charlotte is getting one hell of a basketball player but a damn good person right along with it.

Its good to hear some of the positives that Ammo is going to bring to the Bobcats from people who have watched him over the course of his college career.
I\'m a big believer in judging a player by what hes done on the court during the game versus judging them by \'potential\'. Thats why I\'m glad that they chose Adam, because he got it done on the court at Gonzaga, and you don\'t have to draft him based on potential and what he MIGHT do, you can comfortably draft him based on what hes already done.
just out of curiosity, What part of Canada are you located in.
