BOBCATS RE-SIGN KEVIN BURLESON
The Bobcats held on to some needed depth in their backcourt on Tuesday, re-signing point guard Kevin Burleson for the 2006-07 season. He averaged 1.8 points and 1.2 assists in 2005-06.

Can somebody please explain to me, why its a good idea for us to re-sign this clown. I\'ve never seen him do ANYTHING on the court that made me believe that hes even good enough to be a 12th man.

You have to remember that Burleson is JB Bickerstaff\'s boy. They have a history back to when they were kids. Thats the only thing that I can think of that got JB on the team for another year, cause it surely wasn\'t based on basketball.
Didn\'t he go 0-30 in one stretch last season?

He doesn\'t add anything to this team, I\'d rather the bobcats just go into the season with 11 players and leave his ass at home.

If they paid him one penny over the NBA minimum then management should be run out ofr town.

I keep waiting for good things to happen in free agency and player aquisition, but all we get is penny pinching from the front office and the re-signing of a shitty player:angry:

When I saw this I thought \"What the hell are we thinking\". Why bring him back when we could have brought Blizzard in here and do a lot better than Burleson

I don\'t like to see another 33-shot missing drought. They should be stupid to sign him if they still know that. If only they had signed the other Minnesota man, if really they have to.

Blizzard would have been a nice pickup. Without a doubt, he played better than Burleson in the summer league games.

Theres no way that Burleson deserves a roster spot.

Im sure no one else wants him so for get a sign and trade with him. Hes jbs boy amd he gets big money because they were buddies.
Dam Jordon shuld put a stop to that buddie crap. Its at least a 100 guys out thair that are better than him. Thet would play for NBA min.
STUPID move CATS

I guess 1.8ppg, 1.2apg, 25% shooting and 18% from 3 point range means you get signed for another year.
This is complete and utter Bullshit

He, in fact, went 0-31.

Re-sigining him is a waste of a roster space.

It wasn\'t. This was just plain stupid. Now, will they trade Brevin Knight for crying out loud!

cronyism at its finest.

i hate kevin burlenson. but seriously how much fun would it be to sign your best friend from high school to a contract on your team. it would be way cooler if brett blizzard was his friend however.

I don\'t see how they can trade Brevin now, Kevin Burleson was a disaster running the point during summer league, so I don\'t see how they can trust him as a backup during a regular season NBA game.

If we do trade Brevin Knight then I really hope that Felton can play 48 mpg for 82 games. Because Burleson sure as hell isnt going to do anything for us as Feltons back-up.

I 100% understand the need for a 3rd string PG but to sign Burleson, after he SUCKED last season and again SUCKED in SL, I just don\'t get it.

I would have rather had Pargo as the 3rd string.

Hell, I would have rathered a 80% healthy Jay Williams than getting this kid back.

Kevin Burleson and JB Bickerstaff must be pretty special friends for Bickerstaff to sacrifice the quality of the team just to give that bricklayer a roster spot. Real sp:kiss:cial if you know what I mean.
In my opinion, Kevin Burleson isn\'t good enough to be a backup point guard on a NBDL team.

This day sucks, first my alternator goes out, then Burleson gets a contract. Whats next, they\'ll add Charles Oakley to the front office?? Wait a minute....

I cannot believe we didnt go after Brett Blizzard, I\'m really starting to believe what Stephan A. said is true right now.:(

Take this thread down, please.

I get pissed off every time that I see the title of it.

Could the Bobcats be any stupider for resigning this stiff?

Tray, I feel your pain... I\'m just looking for one Bobcats fan out there that can tell me why re-signing Kevin Burleson was a good move for this franchise. If theres a reason for him being on this team next year OTHER than blatent cronyism, Then I just can\'t see it.

I guess if I start another Gerald Green / Sean May thread then your blood pressure will really skyrocket. :P

I guess if nothing else, and there really is NOTHING else, he knows the system here, his role and we didn\'t do anything like throw a bag load of money at him.

He\'ll know the plays and the mindset of the team.

That\'s the only benefit I can think off and eben that one small benefit doesn\'t out weigh the amount of times he has missed a jump shot, turned the ball over and generally stuffed up.

A couple of days later and the thought of the Bobcats re-signing Burleson still makes me sick to my stomach.
