ESPN Says It looks like Brevin is stayin here (obviously) and i agree it would be harder to find a better point gaurd than him in a trade... Kind of a nothing offseason continues but im not too disappointed in the way the franchise is going.... heres the text from ESPN
Looks like Brevin Knight might be back with the Charlotte Bobcats after all. \"We\'re more inclined to keep Brevin,\" coach-general manager Bernie Bickerstaff said Thursday. \"It would be hard for us to find a better point guard than him\" for what teams would offer in trade. \"This is a place where he can finish his career with a nice salary. Brevin wants to be here.\" ... Knight will make about $4.4 million next season, but Bickerstaff says that\'s a reasonable price to know the team is well covered at the point. Bickerstaff is finishing up roster moves before taking time off. Veteran power forward Othella Harrington signed Wednesday, and Bickerstaff is working to complete negotiations with free agent Bernard Robinson and second-round pick Ryan Hollins.

If Brevin is coming back, then I guess we better prepare ourselves for a 5\'10\" BK starting at shooting guard until Bickerstaff feels that Ammo has \"earned\" the starting SG spot.
Maybe I should go ahead and start the \"Start Morrison over BK\" thread today.:P

I don\'t think Bernie is that stupid....well this is the guy that sat Felton down for Kareem Rush :( so I don\'t know.

I think Morrison is in a different situation than Felton. Last year we had a point guard, who averaged 8 or 9 APG. But we didn\'t have a shooting guard(or even another player) who averaged 20 PPG. We didn\'t need Felton as badly as we need Morrison now. So I don\'t believe Morrison will be benched.

I agree, Its a different situation but Bernie Bickerstaff is incredibly stubborn. I wouldn\'t be shocked to see him force feed us a backcourt of Felton/Knight for the first 30-35 games of the season.
I hope the presence of MJ, somehow forces Bernie to give up his Brevin Knight love-fest.

Based on these offseason decisions, the Bobcats front office is stupid.
They draft well. When it comes to deals, they are pathetic.
Felton - PG
Morrison - SF playing SG
Wallace - SF
Okafor - PF
Weak Link - Center
I better not see Brevin Knight in the starting line up on Day One. I know that much.
These guys have Primo, BK, Ely, and Carroll, and you mean to tell me they can\'t make a deal to address that #5 position and a capable back up to Felton.
BK is a capable backup, but I think he could have been dealt to help with some other things like rebounding and defense.

You\'re right about their lack of skillz in putting together trades. They\'ve had one good trade in 2+ seasons, and that was moving up from #4 to #2 to pick up Emeka... And that deal practically fell in their lap.
And go ahead and get ready to pull your hair out about BK being your starting SG, because you know its going to happen

Another thing is bernie said nothing about singing Ely . From what i just read he said B. Rob and Hollins. So we may not even have Ely next year . The way things are going so far it kinda looks that way. With all the cap room this is just crazy.

The scenario that I see happening is, another team offers him a deal thats too expensive for the Bobcats to match so he gets away and the Bobcats get zilch in return...
BB said last week that he had been given the impression from Ely\'s agent that they were looking for a S&T.
That being the case I would expect Ely to be elsewhere by the start of the season.
This is no doubt why Harrington was brought in.
Still leaves us short at the 5 though because Harrington is wayyyyyyyyyyyyy too short for the 5 where as Ely can play the 4 and the 5.

Thats why I question us not signing D\'or Fischer, If Ely does get a sign and trade I don\'t expect Hollins to step in from day one he is going to the d league and like you said Harrington is not a big guy. Lets hope this summer we make some last minute moves instead of just resigns of players that are not a potential key to us having a great season. I try to stay positive but its hard when we don\'t shit in the offseason:(

This offseason makes no sense. They claim that they are saving their cap space for the class of 2007, but with the big names from that class already gone ( LeBron, Melo, Bosh and D-Wade )its not really worth it to do that now. Do you really want to free up all of your cap for the possibility of getting Vince or Jamison? Those are the only 2 big names left.
