I was thinking about the max contracts going around at the beginning of free agency to Chris Bosh, Dwayne Wade, Lebron and Carmelo. When its time for some of the Bobcats players to re-up their deals ( Emeka, next offseason, Felton&May in 2 years ). Who do you see being offered a Max contract.

Heres how I think it goes.
Emeka - If he has a season on par with his rookie year or better, then the Bobcats or somebody else will offer him a max deal. If he has a season like last year, then its no max deal for Mek.

Raymond Felton - If he makes even minimal progress or simply plays consistently like he did the final 30 games of last season, then he\'ll be offered the max.

Sean May - mmmm Nope. :P

Gerald Wallace - This is kind of tricky, Nobody was a bigger part of any success the Bobcats had last season, But is he really a max player??? I don\'t know, but if he can stay healthy then hes damned close.

Ammo - Too early to tell.

Thoughts???

Emeka . What he gets will depend on the kind of year he has .
Felton. Hes the man , But he has to keep getting better which he will do . To get the max.
Wallace. In ordor for him to get the max he will have to devlope a jump shot. If he does everbody better watch out.
May. As of now hes a 6th or 7th player comeing off the beanch . I dont see him getting the max unless he has 2 great years.

It really is too early to tell right now. I think you guys hit Felton on the head. He just has to continue to get better and he\'ll get the max, but he doesn\'t have to get much better.

Mek, It comes down to this season. He\'s gotta step up and be the man this year, I mean really put up double doubles like every nite.

Wallace, will get it, I don\'t think he has to do anything but stay healthy. Even without a better jump shot. He\'s the man on D and we really need his explosiveness.

May, He can still get it. Just needs to play up to his potential and be healthy. I really do see him as a starter next season. I watched him play in the McDonalds game before he came to UNC and he hit 2 treys in that game. He has a jump shot, just never needed it as a heel.

Ray no doubt is getting that max deal in two years, and if G Wall gets a J in his game dude is going to be a problem he is still young.

So far most are saying that EO50, Crash, Felts and some have even said May will all get max contracts.

If that is the case, the next question should be:

Who will be the first Bobcat to leave the franchise?

There is no way we (or any other team not named the Knicks) are going to have 3 or especially 4 guy\'s on the roster all getting the max amount of dollars.

It\'s not financially viable.

Big Slam i agree with you. Ever body cant get max contracts. I sure dont want us to become the Knicks. Thats why i said a six year 60 mil contract for Wilcox may not be a good thing. That ties us up for six years. Then I could see the core players we have now saying if hes getting 60 mil then im worth more. If that happens cap space goes quick and we lose good players. Out of our core players we have, I can see us haveing 2 to 3 all stars in the fucture. And i for one wants to be able to take care of the ones we have in house. And to keep them toghter and continue to build as a team.

I predict Emeka. The presence of Sean May (If he develops) would allow them to do a sign and trade with Emeka when the time comes.
If it comes down to that.

I think you have it ass about!!

The continual growth of EO50 would make McMay very expendable and I could see him used as trade bait in the next 2 years (we should never have drafted him any way).

EO50 can play the 4 and 5.

McMay can eat pizza.

Crash will be the 1st one gone. And it will happen next summer IMO.

Think about it. If Emeka misses 20 games this season and puts up say... 16.5 points and 10 boards, Do you think that Tightwad Johnson is going to offer him a max deal? I doubt it, but based on what Nene was offered this offseason, somebody in the NBA will which would leave Emeka being signed and traded.
Don\'t get me wrong, I hope that #50 is here for the long haul, but I could easily see the scenario above playing out.
