See the final 15 here
I don\'t think him getting cut is such a bad thing, rather than having to travel to Japan for the next stage of the tryouts. He can actually get some rest over the summer and come into the season energized instead of exhausted.

Since its a 3 year commitment, He\'ll probably get a chance to play sometime during that time, either because of injuries to others and/or him improving his game.

Thanks Ziggy. I had been looking to see if he had got cut. I agree with you he needs to be ready to go when season starts. To get that week of playing with the best, puts him a step ahead of all the other rookies.Ill bet ya he will be going to the training center and working out with Felton ever day now til season starts.

No way you can think him playing pick up with felton is better than getting on this team. The experience he would have gained is more important. I agree however with him being cut, he wasn\'t as good as the rest. Next year however he will be, and as you guys said at least now he\'ll be rested.

JonathanMartin7,
Welcome to the Board:) ;) :)
The experience of playing in the world games would have been great for Ammo in the short term, but I my concern is that it might him hit that rookie wall that much quicker. And if we\'re going to make some noise this year, We\'ll need Morrison competing as strong as possible as deep into the season as possible.
And Again.... Welcome to the board!!!

Thanks for the welcome.
I know the rest will be good for him. I just hate to see him miss out on the experience. Still I look forward to making a heck of a lot of noise next year.
Well, the fact that Shane Battier even made the team discredits the whole selection process in the first place. Screw Coach Kry-\"zew\"-ski!

Jonathanmartin7 Great to have you on the board.I to would have loved to see him make the team .I was just saying that week can only help prepare him for the up comeing season. No way working out with Felton would have been better than getting that experience. But Felton is a gem rat, hes allways workig on his gane. I also see Morrison as the same type of person. And i also look to see him and Felton working out thghter to get even better til season starts.

shane is there for the dirty work. I wasn\'t trying to say anything other than Morrison would benefit more from being on the team. Which we agree on. I still think he\'ll play for the USA one day.

Morrison will make the team in the years to come.

No doubt . I could see him thair in the next year or two. I will say this . Hes my pick for rookie of the year. And i also think hes the best player coming out of this years draft. I cant wait to see him Ray and OK50 working toghter this year.
CATS 44 and 38 7th seed in the play offs

Even if he was selected, he wouldn\'t have found lots of chances to play(remember Emeka in 2004 Athens). Maybe he would be very demaoralized by being a benchwarmer(just like me :)), but now he will just sit down and watch their games from TV.
This is better.

With guy\'s like Kobe Bryant, Chauncey Billups, Paul Pierce, Lamar Odom, Michael Redd and Shawn Marion unavailable this time around there is no way in hell I can see Morrison beating any of them out to land a spot on the roster when they are all ready to play.

15 guys got picked before him yesterday, add in the 6 I mentioned here who would all get picked before him too and that makes 21 guy\'s who would be piccked before Morrison.
For injuries to happen forcing Ammo in the team would mean that the bus transporting the actual USA team had blown up with about 7 of the players on it.
It aint gonna happen.

In addition to injuries, Morrison\'s career is on the rise, while guys like Paul Pierce are close to being on the decline.
In two years, Ammo might be a 24 ppg scorer, by that time Pierce might not even be giving you 20 a game.
Then you have guys like Bruce Bowen who\'ll be 46 by the time the next Olympics roll around:P
Somewhere in the next 3 years, Ammo is going to get a run.

shane battier is way underrated. and right now hes better than adam morrison. he works hard, does the gutsy stuff and hes ridiculously smart. so the selection process is spot on really. and coach K is an excellent coach and obviously a great talent scout, just because you hate Duke doesnt make Coach K suck.
and i dont see adam morrison making the team in the next 2 years... hes gonna be great and a good \"team\" guy. but with Lebron, Kobe, Wade, Peirce, and all the other superstars in the league that can play the 2 and 3. He will have to have an unbelievable rookie and soph campaign, to crack that list. (which i am not totally ruling out.)

Mustachio,Its true im a Carolina fan. But unlike most Carolina fans im a ACC fan that much more.
Coach K. is one of the top coaches in all of college basketball. And if any one on hear says he cant coach then that just shows how little they know about college basketball.Battier made the cut. But you cant even say hes a Elton Brand.
As far as Morrison gos is how well he does in the next two seasons. I for one can see him makeing it two years from now. The first thing he has to do is get rookie of the year. That will help more than anything. The next thing is he needs to keep his scoring average up. All so the team has to get better
to show hes a winner. If that happens which i think it will. Morrison has a good shot at makeing the team that 3rd year,

Not all of those players will still want to play, one of the reasons it\'s been so hard to win. I also think that the age factor will play in as well.
IMO USA basketball should get 12 players, a coach, pay them to play and train all year long. No pro careers, no nothing except play for their country and get paid for it. Kobe wouldn\'t have said yes this time if coach K hadn\'t been selected as coach. We need to have 12 guys that want to play, not 12 guys that run and gun
and want to turn the game into a \"lookie what I can do\" type of game. USA should be able to take 12 players from the NBDL or guys that just weren\'t quite good enough to make an NBA roster. Another thing that\'s going to happen is players are not going to play because they are too tired, or I\'m afraid I\'ll get hurt........from all the hard play of an nba season.
As for Shane making the team. He knows coach K\'s system better than anybody on the team, and is an all out hustle player. I too am a Carolina fan, and I\'ll say I was as much happier and relived to see him graduate than to see JJ leave. Give me a choice of the 2 to be on the bobcats I\'d take shane every time.
other than Bruce bowen, there are a lot of guys on the roster that are not going to dive on the floor for a loose ball. Shane will dive into a pile of players for a loose ball and come out on the other side with it. The man should have been a heel!
sorry to type such a long winded reply but I work a 16 hour shift and probably won\'t be on again today. later
