It is a good write up about Wallace on Charlotte Bobcats.com. He has been shooting 250 jump shots a day and hopes to increase it to a thousand before the season starts. He says he already seen a big improvement in his jump shot. He has also been working on his form.
Bash me now but if Wallace develops a midrange jumper. He will be tha first Bobcats ALLSTAR!!!

No bashing here. If he can consistently knock down the midrange jumper, then theres no reason he can\'t be an all-star THIS season.

Considering he averaged 2+ and 2+ last season and not only wasn\'t named the DPOY, he wasn\'t even named as a memeber as the NBA all defensive team he\'s going to have to do something even more amazing than the plus 2+ and 2+ (if that is possible) to get the cred.
It\'s wrong - but it\'s the way it is.
Crash would need to average 2 and 2 AS WELL AS 30ppg and 10rpg along with 5 assists a game to even be thought of as a all star participant.
Back to the story though - I would rather Crash work more on his free throws than his mid range J. He shot 60%+ from the floor last year and 16ppg by slashing. Nothing wrong with that.
The 68% he shot from the line was what sucked ass the most.

LOL Jordon never got those numbers.
Any way he did say in the article thet he is also working on free throws. He said hes brought his elbow down and has put a little more ark on the shot.He said that he has to have a 100 makes a day . So lets look to see a better free throw percentage this year.

That\'s my point.
I don\'t expect to see any Bobcat in the All Star game for the first 5 years or so or until we make at LEAST the 2nd round of the playoffs.
We just wont be recognized as a legitimate force until we have sucsess in the post season and until that happens, short of putting up super human numbers (and not missing lots of games through injury), none of our boys are All Star bound.
Keep in mind the All Star weekend - every single component to it - is a popularity contest.

I agree with you on that point. Crash has become more popular with the fans over the last two years. Because of his reckless style of play. And i think if he can ave just 4 to six more points a game he will be thair. With the add of a mid range junper and shoting say 78percent from the line.It wont be hard for him to increase his ave to 22ppg. With a good start at the first of the season and the team playing 500 ball Crash WILL be a ALLSTAR this year.

With the Bobcats fans, not NBA fans as a whole - unless you had him in your Fantasy team and even then him missing games was annoying.

If Wallace can get stats like 22ppg 7 rpg 2 bpg 2spg 50%+ fgp and 75% from the line then why wouldnt he be on the the all-star team. If he got those stats and didnt make it to the all-star game I\'ll be pissed as hell.
How many SG/SF\'s do you see getting stats like that.
None

Because we don\'t have any televised games, very few people outside the bobcats fan base know about him and the energy he brings so he wont get votes.
Listen to me:
HE WASN\"T EVEN VOTED AS A FIRST TEAM ALL NBA DEFENSIVE MEMBER LAST SEASON AND HE DID SOMETHING THAT HAD ONLY BEEN DONE 3 TIMES PRIOR IN THE HISTORY OF THE NBA!!
Like I said, I don\'t think it\'s fair but that\'s the way it is.

I definitely see your point Slam,
Once the Bobcats get some more love from the media, locally and nationally ( especially nationally ). Then we\'ll see more of a players in all-star games, Sportscenter highlights etc.
Last season the way the Bobcats got snubbed was beyond ridiculous.
G-Force not making the all-defensive team
Felton being 2nd team all-rookie
ZERO national TV games
... and the list goes on and on.

1st Fans didnt pick the All defensive team .The coaches did. And Wallace cant be over looked by the coaches for ever.
2nd Most of the ALLSTAR votes are done at the games. I know because i voted at least 20 times last year. All so the coaches pick the last players to make the team.
If Wallace puts up numbers like that and dont make it ill be pissed two.

1st: And if the NBA coaches, guy\'s who know the game better than anyone on the planet, don\'t vote for Crash, what makes you think the fans will?
2nd: I\'m sure the 20 votes you put in at a NBA game along with the 13 or so thousand other in attendance is going to out number the 6.8 BILLION people in the world, most of whom have internet access and can vote online.
Why do you think Yao gets voted in year after year?
2 billion people that live there vote for him.

I don\'t think we have to go to the 2nd round of the playoffs b4 we have an all star. But we can\'t have another crappy season and have and all star. We have to compete as a team, we do that and everything will fall in place. At least I hope so lol

If the Bobcats can just stay healthy, then I think All-Stars and recognition will take care of itself.

heelfan i agree if the team stays healthy and keeps getting better the ALLSTARS will come .
Wallace putting in the extra work can only make him better and the bottom line is the better each player gets the better team gets.
Big Stam , Yes Wallace did get the shaft and so did Felton . But that came from the NBA coaches not the fans.
