The latest scuttlebutt has Bernie Bickerstaff and the Bobcats front office looking at signing Bonzi Wells. What do you guys think of that potential move?
And, will Bob Johnson really pay more than the NBA minimum for somebody?

As long as Bonzi is willing to come off the bench behind Adam then I\'m cool with it. Theres no reason that Adam should suffer the same fate that Raymond Felton did last season when he was getting scraps for minutes behind Brevin.

If we did sign Bonzi that would one hell of a 6th man, but I dont think Bonzi would sign with a team that wasnt going to start him. If he could deal with coming off the bench then I say sign him.

If Bonzi signs with the Bobcats. He want be a 6th man thats for sure . He will be the starting at the 2 gard. Its no way he will be comeing off the beanch makeing the money he will be makeing.
Like it or not that means Morrison or Wallace will be comeing off the beanch. If you noticed when Bernie was asked about his starters. He said Felton , ok50,and Premo. with the others fighting for mins.
If you think about it Wallace is the perfect
6th man. He can come in and play the 2 , 3 or 4 .with no drop off . He can also start at any of those positions if some one gets hurt.
Morrison or Wallace one will be the odd man out.
Do i like this deal i dont know. Do i think its going to happen YES.

It really wouldnt matter to me if Bonzi started or not. If he was the starting two ahead of Wallace thats fine. Wallace, Morrison, and Wells either one of them would be good coming off the bench. I just think that Wallace derserves to be a starter because hes our best wing defender. If anyone of them would not be starting I think it would be Morrison just for the fact that he\'s a rookie and never played a regular season game yet.

If we do sign Wells. The Bobcats become a playoff team for sure. Just look at how deap this team will be.
1. Felton and BK
2. Wells,Morrison, Wallace
3. Wallace, Morrison, B . Rob
4. Okafor, May, Harrington
5. Premo, Okafor,and Jake.
You also have Anderson ,Carol. Hollins,Harrmann and may be Ely. For get about Burleson he suks.
Either way you put it signing Wells makes us a play off team . A fifth or sixed seed playing at least 5oo ball. With no one getting hurt for a long period of time.

your absolutely right. that depth chart is nice if you ask me. i mean at every position your decent and the depth behind it is just as nice. Offensively and Defensively this team would be solid from top to bottom. a definite playoff team. not to mention its a fiscally responsible team. Even with signing Wells. We still got money for the next offseason. So it looks like the combo of MJs competitiveness and BillionaireBobs thrifty-ness is paying off.
And thats the way the lineup would have to look too.
Morrison would be the backup for both the 2 and 3 spots, giving him plenty of playing time.
But as far as benching Wallace for Morrison. Thats ridiculous, im loving the AMMO pick but you cant bench Wallace for a rookie, especially the way Gdubb has been playing. I think its safe to say Adam might have some defensive problems in the future, and when we really need to lock down on people... adam wont be such a liabilty that he might be when starting. Youll have Wells and Wallace to play when your wanting the toughest defense. and probally Wells Morrison when you really want offense.

I agree with you . Morrison has to come off the beanch til he takes a starting role from either Wallace or Wells witch would be hard to do.
BUT THE FIRST THING IS BOB HAS TO REACH IN TO THOSE DEEP POCKETS. Does any think he relly will....

Bonzi\'s interview with the Bobcats supposedly went well, but he also had an interview with the Rockets that went well too.
According to Rotoworld, the Bobcats would still have the edge in signing him because the Rockets could offer only around 5 to 6 million, and the Bobcats could make an offer in the neighborhood of 8 to 9 million.

Wells agreed a two-year 5 million $ contract with the Rockets. How will our offseason targets change now?

There isn\'t much left out there in free agency worth having. It looks like we\'re going to have to go into the season with what we have unless we can work out a sign and trade with Melvin Ely.

I agree Wells would have made a great add to the Bobcats. But i like you dont think its any thing left worth signing now. I just hope we dont go out and make some kind of stupid trade for Ely now. I would rather play with what we got than to make a stupid trade at this point.

definetly if you were ever gonna be stingy with money.... now that bonzi is gone.... now is the time.
dont do anything stupid. I like ely but if we can get some depth at the 2 from a trade then id be ok with it. but dont go doing something stupid.
heres the bonzi wells article... i think we missed out here. /sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2605639
but what are you gonna do. might have been for the best.

Great post thumbs up . I agree either keep Ely or trade him for a decent two. But my worst fear is we do something stupid like that Golden State romor of giving up Ely and Wallace for two beanch players.
Its may just me but i think we need to keep Wallace . And redo his contract . I have a feeling hes going to have a all star year. And to lose him because of being stupid scares me to death.

yeah im one who has praised the management team for everything (pretty much) they have done so far. I think being stingy is the way to go at first, because its not like you can win with an expansion roster.
However... if gerald wallace is given anything other than a contract extension. id turn on the management.
id like to think we wanna win games, and id also like to think that our management is smart enough to keep their best player around.
