I think the final cut on guaranteed contracts is going to come down to Bernard Robinson and Kevin Burleson. Bernie is obviously going to keep all of the big men, and will likely let the unguaranteed contracts go. This will bring it down to these 2.
I know that Bernie has said that he wants to keep 3 point guards, but if he keeps that CBA reject KB just to fill a roster spot, then I\'m going to be sick.

get rid of the burl....give me Conroy! At least the guy can play good defense.
It\'ll probably never happen though because of JB bickerstaff being buddy buddy with KB.
I think I could have a 25% FG % too....
BLACH!

I forgot about the JB/KB factor :( I get a real bad feeling that we are going to waste a roster spot on KB again this year.

I say that since New Jersey is probably going to cut Jay Williams we sign him. While he\'s not as explosive as he used to be, being a 3rd string PG(eventually a 2nd string especially if he regains a good portion of his quickness). He could be a Matt Carroll type bench option. He\'d be much better than the dreaded KB.
It doesn\'t help he\'s from Duke and he\'s a proven winner. He has a shred of contributing...and for cheap.

I would take a one legged Jason Wiliams over Burleson, any day of the week.

Get rid of both KB and JB. Even a nearly-dead Jay Williams would be much better. And even \"myself\" would be a better assistant to Bernie.

burleson is so freakin terrible that i just laugh everytime he gets in the game. hes a joke. i say keep conroy. I think he could be decent with some first team guys...(granted he looked rough so far) but i think with some time he could be decent. either way hes got more potential than the burle.

When he hit that one three early in the game last night, I thought to myself, \"Damn, hes going to have one good game and thats going to be enough for them to keep him on the team\". He promptly returned to form and missed his next 4 shots and played like a scrub.:P

Will Conroy and Donta Smith got the axe. So that brings the final cut down to either Bernard Robinson or Kevin Burleson in all likelihood.

What they SHOULD do is cut BOTH Burleson and B-Rob, then snag the best point guard that gets cut off of somebody else\'s roster.

At least Robinson can play more than one position, and play it decently. I\'d have Alan Anderson play 3rd string PG(he had a game with 10 assists when he started last year) and then get the best available player, regardless of position (if robinson and burleson both get cut)
Travis Diener?
Dan Dickau?
Get Will Bynum from the NBDL!! Trade a 2nd rounder or cash....he\'d be worth it.

Will Bynum is now playing for Maccabi Tel-Aviv in Israel.;)
Some reports claim that Orlando wants to trade Travis Diener for a big man, because he doesn\'t have a chance to play ahead of Carlos Arroyo and Jameer Nelson. But he\'s having a solid pre-season, his trade value is high.
My wish: Cut Burleson, trade for Diener, give up on a big man(namely Harrington)

I wonder if the Magic would go for a Melvin Ely/Travis Diener trade?
They would get their big man and we would get our backup PG.

That\'s what I had exactly thought, although I gave Harrington\'s name. psycho, you rock.

ThanksB) Now lets see if Bickerstaff actually does some wheeling and dealing to make a deal like this happen.

How about this for a 3rd point guard for the bobcats?
The Nets waive Jay Williams

It\'s certain that anybody would be better than Burleson, but he still doesn\'t look fully recovered. We should be go after Travis Diener, IMHO. At least he is healthy.

Ok I guess Israel would be a hard way to get him to play here.
Bring Jay Williams to the CATS!!!

Bring Jay Williams to the CATS!!! Jay Williams would be fine with me, Even without his quickness, hes a sinificant upgrade over Burleson. I think he\'d also be a good fit because Bernie Bickerstaff is looking for \"quality\" individuals to put on the roster, and he fits that category.

Absolutely. While the quickness is gone, he can still be a role player because his basketball IQ is high..being a former star PG and all.
It also helps that he\'s a Duke native and is a local hero...we take winners and local players.
