not that i care at all that we gave up Alan anderson, but i wonder what in the world is going on.

are they gearing up for a big trade...

are they losing their minds and just randomly dropping guys....

did he do or say something to piss someone off...

very interesting move, even if it is Alan Anderson

Well, theres a site I saw that said that we aren\'t looking for any trade but that were just looking for a veteran guy to pick up. Anybody know who we could pick up?

The Charlotte Bobcats waived guard Alan Anderson Monday, and apparently intend to sign a veteran sometime in the next few days.

\"We did it to clip a roster spot,\'\' coach-general manager Bernie Bickerstaff told the Observer. \"There\'s not a trade involved, but at some point we will replace the roster spot with a veteran player.\'\'

Bickerstaff would not say who the Bobcats are pursuing or at what position they seek help.

For which position will we pick up a player? That\'s the question. And I think we will pick up a point guard to ease the load of Ray Felton after a potential trade of Brevin Knight.
Due to hoopshype.com:
PG Anthony Carter, Milt Palacio
SG Derek Anderson, Devin Brown, Qyntel Woods, Kareem Rush
SF Keith Van Horn, Shandon Anderson, Jim Jackson(Bobcats will be his 13th team if signs)
PF Toni Kukoc, Vin Baker, Antonio Davis(all retired as I remember)
C Loren Woods, Zendon Hamilton, Luke Schenscher
are the best available free-agents.

My guess is one of those 2 point guards that Tamburello mentioned. I don\'t think that I would have cut Anderson over any of those 2 however.

They say that this move wasn\'t done because of an upcoming trade but it doesn\'t make any sense to cut Anderson now, when they could cut him anytime. I think they may be bullshitting us about it not being trade related. Probably another Bernie specialty ( 2nd round draft pick for a scrub off of somebody else\'s roster ):(
It could be worse though, They could be cutting Anderson to re-sign Kevin burleson:blink:

If they resign Burleson I\'ll ban this team. Why didn\'t they cut Bernard? Was it due to Anderson\'s injuries?

What about Jason Hart? He knows the team and played decent enough to be a backup.

Nick Van Exel? A vet who can provide some leadership and has some spark left to be a #3 on the depth chart as a point guard.

If they don\'t go for a vet, I could see Will Conroy. Played decent enough in the preseason and would be a decent pickup.

I could see them even taking a risk and signing NC native Jeff Mcinnis to a 1 year deal. He\'s a vet, can score, and is a risk/reward type player, and Jordan loves his alma-mater players.

A trade with Brevin Included is a definite possibility as well. THe Miami Heat seem to be the most likely choice.
