After reading Bill Simmons article on the tragedy that is Kevin Garnetts Career. i got to thinking if theres any way we could get him. getting him would make us an instant contender.
I would say that Brevin Knight, Melvin Ely and a 1st round pick, might be able to swing something with minnesota, who has a knack for making terrible trades.
our starting lineup would then be unreal.
Raydar
AMMO
Crash
KG
FREAKAFOR
that is a ridiculously tough starting five. any thoughts. or better ideas on how you would get KG on this team. or if you would hate the idea of having KG on this team at all.
there is absolutely no downfall to the trade i suggested, for the bobcats at least.
i think they would turn that down because they are giving up the one thing minnesota fans come to see. for two career backups. so we all know that brevin has to go in the trade... So Brevin Knight, first round pick and who would you be willing to part with in exchange for KG. etc

I like the trade proposal you said. Knight, Ely, and 1st round pick. I would love to have KG on this team.
Felton, Morrison, Wallace, KG, and Okafor.
That line-up would easily make us contenders.
Although I doubt they would make the trade...it\'s still awesome to think about.

Of course, this would be magnificent deal for us. But T\'Wolves board should be stupid to accept this kind of deal. We can never get a player like KG without giving up a young starlet of our roster. If only they accept that deal:
BK+Ely+May+1st round pick for KG+Bracey Wright.

minnesota isn\'t going to screw up any trade involving KG, he\'s just too high profile, not even they would screw that up.
any way a team that wants KG is going to have to give up several promising YOUNG players, so you can rule out BK. minnesota would be more interested in crash, felton, and okafor, which should be untouchables for charlotte. they would probably also want picks, which would stunt our future growth.
and adding KG to our roster, would NOT make us a contender. maybe for the LAST playoff seed considering how lousy the east is, but you guys are really overestimating our talent level right now. by the time our young guys are ready to TRULY compete in the east KG will be old and washed up.

tamb.... thats beautiful... it still leaves us with voshkul and primoz as back ups. and gives them 2 young big men with upside and a cagy veteran in brevin plus a 1st round pick. i mean its not like we dont have the roster room or cap space. whats keeping us from trying to become a contender Right now.
KG is lost up in minnesota. they have no shot with him there and they are in cap hell.
unload him to us... get some decent big man young talent and a veteran point guard. then start trying to RE UP on your debacle of a franchise.

Felton, AMMO, Okafor, or May would be gone. Maybe even 2 of them.
It just wouldn\'t be worth it for us. Trade Felton and a first rounder for Andrew Bynum of the Lakers and 2nd rounder, or something like that. Bynum is the next coming of Shaq. Felton could be replaced and Bynum is a potential all pro.

But the more that I think about it a center/PF combo of Bynum & Okafor could set up the Bobcats nicely for the next 10 years. I\'d give it some serious consideration.
