From what I have read around the net, The nets are in need of a center, and may be interested in Ely.

Here\'s the link:

I would love to get a first rounder for Ely. He has no use for us, especially now that we have Ryan Hollins and a good amount of big men. Maybe we could then activate Herrmann or Hollins.

i think the bobcats missed the opportunity to get max value from ely last year...couldn\'t imagine getting anything other than a pair of second-rounders

If the Nets were crazy enough to give us a 1st rounder for Melvin then I would take that in a heartbeat. Hes basically rotting away on the bench for us now.

i like that building through the draft and all. but the way to go about this is.

trade ely and our second round pick for a first round pick and a guard or monetary compensation.

I\'d be happy with a first round pick in any sense of the manner. I\'d like a guard or money, but if they pay his salary and give us their pick, consider it done.

what guard would nj be willing to give to us? they are pretty high on marcus williams and hassan adams...eddie house is definitely not coming back to charlotte. i think 2nd round picks is more realistic.

I love that deal... Unfortunately I don\'t believe that we have the right GM to make it happen.

At the start of the season, I thought keeping Ely was a positive move; and was a little frustrated to see Jake get so much PT at his expense. But now that I've seen so much of Ely seeming to be totally asleep on the court; that at this point I'd take pretty much anything for him. And I've become a Jake Voskuhl and Matt Carroll fan! Those guys are playing well above expectations, they really are.

Trade Ely!?!?! I'd be happy if we CUT him!
