I thought when we came into the season that the front office and coaching staff was truly committed to getting the most out of this season and making a push for the playoffs this season. At this point the thought of the playoffs seems ridiculous.
With the talent that this team has, we should have more than 5 wins... I'm not saying we should be leading the Southeast division, but damn!!! >:( We should at least be in the middle of the pack.
In my opinion Bickerstaff and company came into this season with one objective, to have the worst record in the league this season so that we can have the best shot at Oden or Durant.
My proof:
* Bernie using the BK/Ray backcourt. Regardless of which point guard you like, using them together causes a dysfunctional lineup and whoever has to guard the SG gets killed defensively
* Bernie's jacked up rotation pattern. How many times have you seen a player get hot, then they are pulled from the game and they sit for the next 10-12 minutes
* no significant free agent activity tihis offseason. Unless you consider adding Othella significant ::)
* Bernie still handling the coaching duties. If hes the GM and the coach, then he has a free reign to make all of the poor decisions that he would need in order to get this team in a position to collect the most ping-pong balls.

Thoughts?

I think the team has all so devoloped inturnal problems. No help for no one on the defencive side of the ball. You see and hear things between the players. To me Walllace and B.K. have a lot of problems wiith Felton and May .And Morrison dont know who the hell to listen too.So far this has been kept quite but you can see actions on the beanch and tell . I all so think all the crap is starting to affect ok50s game.Giive Bernie cradit for a lot of this .Hes starting amother new starting line up to night. Meaning Morrison starts comeing off the beanch to night.

i mean i still dont wanna admit were tanking the season, but your points are valid and its starting to look real suspicious. the thing about tanking the season is. we still dont have a guarentee. we could finish with the worst record. and still pick 14th theoretically. so if they are tanking on purpose id be pissed... UNLESS OF COURSE THE NBA IS RIGGING IT SO THAT ODEN COMES here. starting a marketing thing like david robinson and timmay at the spurs. plus putting oden and a good team with micheal jordan to get him back in the spotlight. of course thats just conspiracy theories. but it makes me feel better.

Either way if they are gonna tank the season, can they do it without brevin knight and bernie bickerstaff.

Well I'll at least be able to watch the game to see this theory for myself on Thursday night on TNT ;D

You can see more of it in home games in person. But just look at the ass. Most of them go like this B.K to either Wallace or OK50 or kicked backed out to Felton. or Felton to May or OK50 or Matt. Watch for ass from B.K. to May or ass from Felton to Wallace. They are few and far between.
To me it looks like a power strugle between Felton and B.K with Bernie adding fule to it by not haveing the balls to take B.K. out the starting line up and bring him off the beanch.Has any one noticed if B.K. dont start he dont play at all.
Whats the problem between Bernie and ELY. Ely could be a help to the team but never gets into games.Does anyone on this board think Mel should be the last one off the beanch.
Let me know your openion weather or not you think the team has problems with in the system. And or what you think might fix them.

to me the single greatest problem with the bobcats this season has been gerald wallace taking jump shots. really. why would crash ever take a jumper? the last two seasons we've seen become incredibly adept at taking it to the hoop, and all of a sudden he's taking 5-7 jump shots a game? he's probably dropped his fg% 10 points this way and it's hurting the team too.

let's go ahead and tank. i want durant/oden to come here sooOoOoO badly i can put up with 1 more losing season. but i bet the NBA rigs it so that oden goes to a major market city. there's always hope!

i dont think adding two more rookies is the way to fix this team....

sure they look good on film, but so did all of our players weve drafted so far... and we only have 5 wins this season.

Wallace should never take a jump shot unless he has to. He makes his jumpers as if it's nothing.

i think either oden or durant will be able to contribute right away. and by next year everyone else will be 1 year older and wiser. look how much meks game has jumped since his rookie season, raymond sean and adam will surely improve as well. add in bk and crash and hopefully we can hover around .500 in year 4.

In this weak eastern conference we should be able to hover around .500 THIS year. But here we are with only 5 wins.... smells real fishy to me.

I haven't seen Durrant play live yet, but I watched Oden and he is a beast. I think he'd be able to contribute more right away than meka did. Mainly because he'll have a lot of talent around him. But even with him I don't expect .500 ball from this team for 2 or 3 more years. :(
