The L.A. Times is reporting (http://www.latimes.com/sports/printedition/la-sp-cliprep16dec16,1,3587590.story?coll=la-headlines-pe-sports) that Corey Maggette wants trade, and he doesn't care if its part of n Iverson deal to send him to the Sixers or not.
What coud the Bobcats put together to get Magette from the Clippers? I think that he would be a good fit.

PORTLAND, ORE. — It appears Corey Maggette and the Clippers are headed toward a breakup soon.

Maggette's agent, Rob Pelinka, recently asked the team to trade the seven-year veteran, and the Clippers have offered Maggette to the Philadelphia 76ers as part of a proposed package for disgruntled star guard Allen Iverson.

And even if they fail to acquire Iverson, the Clippers are expected to trade Maggette this season.

I would definitely be interested in Magette. I'd give em Brezec and a 2nd rounder for him.

I'd give up Wallace for him.

If Clippers would be interested, I'd definitely do either of them. He has a very great ratio of "Impact on Game/Money Paid for Him" He's two years left on his contract with a player option on third. His average salary is around 7.5-8 million. He's really a bargain. But we have to wait until Iverson's situation become clear. Actually everybody in the league is waiting to see Iverson's new destination. His trade will trigger a lot of trades, including Maggette's.

This year, 14.3 points, 6.1 rebos in only 25.7 minutes. Very similar to the contribution of May.

I second that. Given the minutes, Corey Maggette is like Gerald with a more reliable jump shot.

How is he on the defensive end?

Maggette is nice on the defensive end. but hes not better defensively than Crash IMO.
On the offensive end, I don't see him being an upgrade over Gerald, his jumpshot is shaky at best. In the last 3 seasoins he has shot 43.1% 44.5% and 43.1% from the field. :-\
I wouldn't give up Crash for him. No way.

In response to that, I would not give Wallace up for the fact of similar offensive stats and him being superior defensively, as well as more versatile.

I think the Clippers need more depth with true big men. Tim Thomas is not a big man, and what they have on their bench is a bunch of lugies. Their backcourt is good with Cassell, livingston, mobley and Thomas.

Brezec/Ely and a 2nd for Maggette.

Otherwise, I'd trade Wallace and Ely/Brezec for Magette and an unconditional 2007 1st rounder.

Then later I would package Knight and the Clips pick for a stud SG/SF somewhere. Wallace should be our 6th man with his versatility. Our lineup would then look like this:

PG: Felton/Carroll?
SG: Morrison/Stud picked up/Wallace
SF: Magette/Wallace
PF: May/Okafor(Okafor would start if Brezec is not in the trade)
C: Okafor/ Ely or Brezec (Brezec would start if Ely traded) and then of course Voshkuhl

Then we would be set up nicely with an improved roster, still have our high 1st rounder, eliminate the PG dilemma, and improve our bench DRASTICALLY (we'd have May, Wallace, and either our pickup/Morrison on the bench. We would have to pick up a backup PG tho, unless Matt carroll can run the point. As long as it's not Kevin Burleson, I wouldn't care much who.

Hell, What about Chris Duhon? I like his play and they still have Hinrich, Gordon, Nocioni and Deng.

Think the Bulls would trade Deng in that package mentioned above (Knight and 1st rounder). We all know how the bulls love draft picks. They also have really good depth and could compensate easily for him.
