gee whiz ::) It seems like Big Money Bob goes out of his way to avoid getting some good press for the franchise. If he had allowed Sabates to donate his very tiny portion of his shares of the Bobcats to charity it might have given us some positive press for a change, and I really don't see how this could possibly affect Bob financially in any negative way.

We've been waiting for our Mark Cuban to take control of the club. Bob Johnson is such a bad owner. Until that day, unfortunately we'll remain as the Dallas Mavericks of 90's.

But from the above quote it sure seems shitty.
As usuall, if you guys haven't noticed yet I'm kinda good at looking at the good side of bad things. Everybody is disapointed with our owner. My facts could be wrong but here goes.
Didn't he pay for the stadium? or at least a large chunk of it, I'm sure the citizen's of Charlotte had to pass a bill for tax's going towards it too.
He's had a large part in the draft which has given us 3 if not 4 future all stars.
He's also approved larger than average salaries for our rooks.
I'm sure this is for tax purpose only but he's also given to charities in Charlotte, as well as nation wide, including a rather large chunk to the people of New Orleans.
Even though I wanted AI to come to Charlotte when he found out that it was going to be a hassle he said if he doesn't want to be here then the hell with him, we don't want him.
And as for him being a tight wad, at least he didn't go out and give a max contract to someone who wasn't worth it. Like Cuban paying Dampier 10 mil a season win he's not as good as Primo is.

...
The citizens of Charlotte actually rejected paying for a downtown arena when they voted against it a few years back. The city council then ignored the voting results and decided to build the arena anyway to be paid for by public tax dollars. The fact that many Charlotteans feel like the Bobcats were forced upon them against their will and that they also have to use their tax dollars to pay for it, is one of the resons that they are having such hard time getting communtiy support.
Bob didn't pay for the arena, it was built on public tax dollrs.
Being a huge NBA fan, I'm thrilled to have a home team to root for. But I can also see where some of these people are coming from.

Wow, I didn't know that. I can understand the frustration, even though having a home team regardless is great.
