The Chargers blew it

With 8 seconds left and facing a 54 YARD FIELD GOAL, Why didn't they try to hit a quick sideline route to get them n extra six or 7 yards. They had enough time on the clock for one more play as long as it was a sideline route.
The chances of hitting a 54 yard field goal have to be less than 33%.

yeah but they had some disapointing plays too, like brady's int. that was fumbled and the pats recovered for a first down or that play when drayton florence head butted that guy, stupid plays like that will cost you a close playoff game
