I think gerald wallace will be able to opt out of his contract after this season (player option for 2008 i think). if he is smart he'll opt out and hit the open market and get a ton of money. what do you guys think it will take to keep him? obviously at least 4 yrs. 40 million if donald foyle (goldent state) can get that much $$$ to ride the bench.

I bet he'll probably go elsewhere. While I'd love to have him stay, I doubt he will. I think he'll make a contract @ about 2 million less/year than Josh Howards contract, depending on teams needs.

I get the feeling that hes going to get more money somewhere else than he'll be offered here. I'd be surprised if Bob Johnson outbid everyone else for Crash's services. :-\

With tht being said, It would be best to trade Gerald before the deadline and get something of value for him rather than to let him walk for nothing at the end of the season.

I think he will stay. I think bernie will make him the big free agent signing. i kinda feel like bernie knows how much he has to offer this team so i dont really see him leaving. injuries and weak jumper aside... hes been great for the bobcats and i dont care if they sign him for 10 years.

Trades are what you want before a player leaves for free agency... however all your bargaining chips are tossed out the window. Every GM will know that all they have to do is wait a few months and they can pay the guy and he will play for them with out giving up their good players... so IF they do offer an early trade it will be weak.

the only way a trade is possibly a good idea is if a team is really really interested in him and doesnt want to take a chance of losing him in free agency. or they need him to help in the stretch after the allstar break.... but i dont really feel like gerald strikes out to a GM enough to sacrifice a player and some picks ya know. ... we will see...

The Bobcats already know if Wallace is playing for Charlotte . How much he will make,if he likes playing hear. If he wants to test the market .
And if Wallace doesnt want to play for Charlotte. Then he will be traded be for the trade deadline.
Wallace is good but not a player to break the bank on. He has no out side gane to speak of. And hes to small to thke pounding he gets playing the 4.
You can all so count on him to miss at least 10 games a year.being hurt.
With that being said . I dont think hes worth any more than a four year 32 mil dollar contract with a team opt for a 5th year.
That way if he has that big injrry . We dont lose everthing.

Crunch that must be some good drugs.
Sig is way to big. what is that
Any way Wallace is not a all stat player. Hes just a ave mid range player who makes some nice plays and scores big once in a while.

123together had a really big signature on his posts of Bobcats Arena but he changed it.
