In the Charlotte Observer today, Bernie Bickerstaff said that he has discussed trading our pick that we're owed from the Toronto Raptors for Corey Maggette.

I've always been a Maggette fan. I like his athleticism and the way that he can get to the free throw line. But I am completely unwilling to give up that Toronto pick for him.

What are your thoughts?

that's a tough call. as much as we really need a shooting guard, i'm not sure if its worth the pick. if toronto makes the playoffs, this year we get their pick, if thats the case, i would trade it in a heartbeat. but if they don't we get their potential lottery pick, so i would not trade a lotter pick for him. however, if toronto does make the playoffs, this is one of the deepests drafts in ages so we could get a quality player in the 14-20 range

I'd give it to them only as a restricted 1st round pick.

I'd like to note that the Clippers said for Maggette they wanted Toronto's first round pick, as well as a small forward in return. I say, unless we had Bernard Robinson to give.

To Hell with those extreme measures!

That would be a good pick up and maybe they could get some players other than UNC players on the roster but I think Corey M. would be a solid addition to the bobcats squad this year

If they don't make the playoffs this year we don't get their pick. So we wouldn't be giving up a lottery pick for him. So we would be giving up a pick in the 14 to 20 range as you said. If they don't make it to the playoffs we get their pick no matter what they do next year. That's why I'd rather have him now for the 14-20 pick or not have him and have toronto suck out the ass next year and get a lottery pick.

I think he'd be a quality addition to the squad also. But what is wrong with loading up with UNC players? I'd take Brandon Wright in this years draft if I had a pick between 5-10 in a second. Not to mention that they all played in the same type of system. I wouldn't mind getting someone from UCONN either, I think that the more you have played together the quicker you gell at the next level, even if the system is totally different than what they played in college.

I'd give up the pick for him in a sec as long as it didn't take us out of the lottery, I don't think there is another sg in the draft that is as good as he is now. Perhaps some with the potential but not that could step in and be even half as good now. And this team needs help now! He could easily make the difference in us not making the playoffs at all or actually having a chance to ADVANCE in the playoffs!

Terry is probably heading for the D league :( he may even go undrafted in which case I would see him as a good FA pick up.

Captin crunch and 123 together..
What's wrong with having a lot of players from the same team. Probably half the people that bother to go watch us lose this year are just there to see Ray, and Sean play anyway. The more local players we have the better, weather it be for anywhere on tobacco road. If they can play let them play where the will sell more tickets. HERE!

Hell if Noel can make Terry can to. Hell hes a TAR HEEL.
If we had just signed J. Williams out of the D. league. He might take that starting job from Crash. At worst a good back up hell hes a TAR HEEL ,,,,

We all know the top two free agent this year is Jameison and Carter. And we all know why because they were TAR HEELS.
i
Its no doubt at all TAR HEELS make better pros than any other college.
