With PG Jeff McInnis offering quality minutes in support of Raymond Felton, the time finally could be at hand for the Bobcats to part with Brevin Knight. The Pistons have expressed interest. . . .

What might we recieve? I don't see much from them. No way we take on Nazr Mohammed. I'd only want Antonio Mcdyess, Flip Murray, or picks (my preference). Everyone else on the roster is worth too much or worth too little.

a first round pick would do oh so nicely

A first rounder would be nice, but Pistons would be willing to part with Flip Murray. I wish we'd take Carlos Delfino.

Delfino would be a nice swap. I'd like a first round pick even more, but I don't think that the Pistons would be willing to give that up for BK, even it will be late in the 1st round.

Brevin Knight for a Flip Saunders. LOL

Only if that could happen. lol. A pick would be nice since there is no good SG for the Pistons cept Hamilton and Delfino is not consistent even though he's been in the league for 3 years, i dont think we can turn him around.

Scanning their roster, Jason Maxiell would be a nice pickup but I think that it would take more than Brevin to get him

Maxiell is more of a Power Forward that can play some Small forward.

I wouldn't mind Maxiell, but we already have May who can do that. He also has 2 inches and is roughly the same weight.

Give me Amir Johnson and two 2nd rounders. Johnson is a flat out steal.

Don't forget we would have to take back at LEAST $4.4 mil in salary to trade BK away.

The best deal with the Pistons I can come up with would be:

Bk and Primoz
for
Mohammed, (either) Johnson/Dupree/Blalock and an '07 1st.

Giving us the '07 1st is the price they would have to pay to move Mohammed and his 4 year contract.

This would give them the room to resign Billups as well (as Bk and Primoz are expiring)

Slam a deal like that is what i think the Pistons have in mind.
I have been reading runors that they wanted to get rid of a big since the add of Weber with Mohammed being the first name to come up, In trade rumors.
He looks like the guy they want to dump.

I could handle nazr IF, and only IF they take Brevin, Primoz, and then give us Nazr, Amir Johnson, AND that 1st rounder. I wouldn't mind paying some of Brevin's salary if we had to.

Mohammad's contract just sucks. Plain and simple. I'd prefer we waived him after the season is over.

No need to cut him.

Let Jake walk at the end of the year and Mohammad takes his spot and Ely's walks too.

The contract of Mohammad is equal to the value of Jakes and Ely's so we don't loose out (plus we still have $30 mil in cap space to play with)

I might just be dumb . But how do we come out in a contract like that. We get a late 1st round draft pick and a player with a bad 4 year contract. Is that late pick worth that contract.

ziggy
01-30-2007, 05:10 PM
Is that late pick worth that contract.

Yes... With the crazy amount of cap space we have, it would be worth taking on a bad contract to get that extra 1st round pick. We could then possibly looking at a top 6 pick (ours), something in the 16-18 range (Toronto's) and one around 25 (Detroit's) for a total of three picks in the deepest draft in many years.

We could also package one of those picks with a 2nd rounder and move up in the draft. Get a big guy, Marcus Williams, and Nazr Mohammed (meh). Who knows...maybe we could end up with Kevin Durant after all is said and done.

When you say it that way it sounds good , With three first round picks you can do a lot of things. But how good would you guys say Nazr is.
Would he be good to come off the beanch ,like Jake and Ely or is he just dead wood who never gets into games. I really dont remember him.

All three of them are subpar Ely is decent at best but inconsistent, Jake is just good for laying on hard fouls and I'd take Nazr for his rebounded ability. This move would do nothing but benefit us for the future.

I'd put Nazr Muhammed ahead of Melvin Ely and Jake Voskuhl. Hes better than either one of them on the boards and defensively.

if given the minutes he can average about 12 points and 8 boards. He'll also average roughly a block a game. If we got him, I'm sure we'd be able to trade him in the next year or 2. I can live with him on the team if we benefit in other ways.

I think he means that the Piston's Salary Cap is overflowing over the limit since they got Webber and they're other players and need to fix their spending. AND also that they cant afford a new rookie. I guess thats what he's saying.

xD 4 posts before i even hit submit

Yeah. Get rid of Jake Voskul and Ely. Even though Ely wanted to be traded earlier to help another team, Bernie just kept him and lowered his minutes and skill which eventually screwed HIM over and then US over since no one wants him now.

In my opinion if thair was any Bobcat to get screwed it was Ely. I think it all comes back to signing that quilifing offer. Ely waited til the last day and signed it after we all ready had 15 guys signed,So i think BERNIE stuck it in him a broke it off. He will be signing for the NBA min next year.

HOOPSHYPE RUMORS TAKES YOU TO DET NEWS. COM.
where its all kind of possable trades for B. K.
things like MURRY AND ELLIS FOR BK
MURRY AND A FIRST FOR BK
NAZR and a possable 2 first rounders for B. K. Dumars says hes been a long time fan of B. K.
It kinda sounds like does Charlotte want to trade him

dav7z
01-31-2007, 02:54 PM
With the Pistons wanting B.K as bad as they do. And wanting to get rid of Nazr. We have a good chance to get both of thair first round picks
What could we do with FOUR 1st round picks . ANY IDEAS

ziggy
01-31-2007, 03:08 PM
I could see getting one of the Piston's pick if we're lucky, but no way Joe Dumars gives us 2 first rounders for BK.
If we get one, I'll be really happy.

Here's the info that dav7z was mentioning:

http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070131/SPORTS08/701310302/1127

and the quote that intrigued me:

The Bobcats might take Murray and one of the Pistons' two first-round picks, but Dumars is loathe to move either of those picks.

If we got Flip Murray AND a first rounder for Brevin, that would be SWEEEET!

According to the Charlotte Observer, BK is going to come back this week.

I'm hoping that he plays well, shows that he's healthy and raises his trade value.
