Although Julius Hodge has been released and has loads of potential, Bernie is not interested.

It's kind of dissappointing, but valid reasons. He has been an injury risk (and we're an injury plagued team), and has off-court issues - something our franchise especially frowns on.

123 your such a unc fan i know julius hasnt been producing as a pro but he could evolve into a pretty decent pro. just cause he didnt play for unc doesnt mean he wont be a good pro some day.

I think I'd like him as a depth pick instead of Ely if he didn't have that injury list and off-court problems.

I'd take Hodge over Othella Harrington or Melvin Ely. Neither one of them has added anything to the Bobcats this season.

It would not hurt sign him to a 10 day contract. And if he doesn't work out, it didnt cost you much to try.

I'm all for it. It would give us a chance to evaluate him for an extended time. Even its a small possibility that he could stick on the roster its worth the contract, because we know guys like Othella Harrington and Eric Williams have no long term future on this team.

By the way, Welcome to BobcatsPlanet!! :funkybanana:

Yeah, even if the contract is for the NBDL, he's got the tools to be successful.

yes, Welcome!

Who would you waive in order to give him a 10 day?

Brevin :P

Honestly, I would lean towards Othella.

He still has a year left on his contract

Walter Hermann!, he still looks lost out there (but is playing better) or the big O (when was the last time he played anyway)

While it's smarter to keep him and forgot about the 2nd year, how much would a contract buyout be for Othella?

That would depend on how it's structured and if there is a trade kicker (ala Garrity) etc but at the very least it would be $5 million.

Considering Top Bob starting to smack of being cheap (see trades being based on cash considerations) I don't like the chances of him paying out a players contract
