I like the kid. He's 6'11 1/2, 250 pounds and room to grow. He play's well, and is a low post scorer with good defense. He's only a freshman, and has better stats than Roy Hibbert. He's also playing against tough competition, as he's played against:

Gonzaga, USC, UCLA, Arizona, and others that are very well respected programs. He has higher potential, and from what I read here, he accepted Washington over UNC, Uconn, and other squads so he has a good pedigree of talent thinking he's the best center available not named Oden. I like the kid and would want him on the team IMO.

Also, I just noticed his game log against UCLA: 13 pts, 15 boards, 3 assists, and 5 blocks - not bad against the #2 team in the country.

honestly i haven't seen any UW games on TV this year. it's an east coast thing. 1 thing about the UCLA game, not to take anything away from his performance because those are solid numbers, but UCLA is a really small club this year. their #1 weakness has been the lack of big men, so talented bigs like hawes and the lopez twins are more apt to give them trouble.

out of high school he was the 2nd best center in his class besides oden. crushing blow when he didn't pick the heels, but i think he will be a very good player but will need time to develop because he is so young

He mainly plays the high post (real high, almost out to the 3pt line) and that Brockman dude doing all the grunt work.

I'd rather Hibbert - he plays with a little more aggression and has the size.

Hawes or Aaron Gray - which one would you take?

Spencer Hawes seems to have a higher skill level, but Aaron Gray has one of those mean streaks that you can't teach. If that nasty streak sticks with him at the NBA level, then I'd say Gray.

So could we call Hawes just Troy Murphy Jr.?

To me he reminds me Josh Mcroberts out of DUKE . I would hate to spend that high of draft pick on him.

As a possible season ticket holder next year, Hawes does absolutely nothing for me :P I heard a guy on an ESPN Podcast compare him to Chris Kaman. Oh Please none of that.

Kareem Rush? :o Kareem Rush?!

Chris Kayman has never been the same since Reggie Evans did that prostate check on him last season
