OOOOOOOOOOOHHHHH, I can't wait to see these guys go head to head on Saturday
I could put this in the NCAA forum since its tournament related, but I'll stick it in here since these are ( at least on my board ) 2 of the top 3 prospects for this year's draft going head to head.
I hope that the refs realize that these are two 280+ pound beasts going head to head and don't call every single ticky tack foul on these two.
How do you guys see this matchup playing out?

I think Oden will dominate him point blank this game will be a huge factor for Roy's stock in the upcoming draft though so he's sure to be on his A game.

this should be an awesome match up and i can't wait to see these two play against each other. I could care less about ohio state or georgetown but watching oden, hibbert, green, conley, cook etc. play will be exciting...tons of good players in this one

THis game will be sweeeet!!
I will take either, but I see Hibbert more of the probability, since I seriously doubt we get #1. I watched the UNC game and he played well, as well as in the tourney.
Mike Conley...he's been playing on fire!! If Felton doesn't pan out, we should peg him.
Hell, Ron Lewis from OSU has been knocking everything down in this tourney. He's looking like Kobe out there.
THis game will be fantastic.

I think Hibbert will definitely expose Oden as a raw, overrated prospect.
I'm not saying the guy won't be good eventually. But the advantage Hibbert has is that he doesn't have to guard Oden because he has such low offensive ability.
Hibbert won't dominate Oden or anything, but I think he'll get 15 points or so.
Oden has been sleepwalking all season against small players, it will definitely be interesting to see how he does against someone his size.

Ah ha!!! My thoughts exactly!!
If Oden had the foot work/smarts/passing ability/ability to dribble the ball that Hibbert has, he'd be out of this world.
If Hibbert had the power and explosivenss that Oden has, he's be out of this world.
End of the day, Hibbert enjoys contact more than Oden and even though Oden (if he can get it together) will be the mightier pro years down the track, I think Hibbert will take this one.
In saying that, Conley will be the difference and Ohio will win.
I nearly pissed my pants last night when G-Town won knowing we would get to see the two monsters go at it. It's the type of match up Vince McMahon dreams about!!
The only thing that might have competed would have been Durant Vs B.Wright.

i think it will be a pretty even matchup, with oden scoring more, but with hibbert making a bigger impact on the boards and with the blocks

Man I'm truly amazed at the love for Hibbert here...I have kind of been seeing him as the next average NBA center; kind of like Tony Battie or Mark Blount status...nice game, nothing great, definitely not beast material. He fits well in G-Town, where he's a nice pickup while Green and Sapp run the game.
So I wasn't all that excited about the matchup. But I'm happy to be wrong! - now we'll see!
Oden as offensively challenged? hmmm...agree that he's a quiet dude, but trust me he can score at will...and maybe that's the basic problem at the moment....lack of will.

This is probably because he's had such a lack of competition. Give him a challenge and he'll improve that passion. Look at Rudy Gay, Shaq around playoff time, etc etc.
I still seriously hope we trade down in the draft.

The performance that Hibbert put on in this game just solidified my belief that he'll be a quality NBA center. He took it to Greg Oden and if it weren't for some whistle happy zebras, the outcome may have been different.

Hmmm... :D I had a different reaction Zig....
Hibbs has a nice offensive game, but I didn't see much on the defensive side. I still think if he was a Bobcat that he'd just get in Okafor's way. I just don't think we need a Center, although he'd make a fine backup...
And Oden had flashes of what everyone is excited about..his lift above the rim is incredible...did you see that one missed slam that he crashed to the floor on? Amazing. And unlike Hibbert, Oden will be a physical freak on both sides of the court in the NBA.
LOL listening to Packer diss those guys at the end of the game, just set me off, what an idiot.
I'm pissed at the refs too for not letting them play...

On trading down....I can see that; but unlike some others here, if we can take Brandon Wright or Horford with the pick, I would. We need a PF pretty bad; and both those guys seem legit. There will be quality SG later on down; or we can pick up a FA maybe.
I like Wright. In a short time, I think he's star stuff.
This HS kid Brandon Jennings looked awful good in the McDonalds game. Maybe next year! He was right up at Oak Hill too...but he's going to Kansas State next year, so may be under the radar.

I saw that missed my dunk and almost fell out of my chair. In an interview after the game, he said that he was trying to tear the rim down with that dunk. You're right, hes amazing.

I still say we look into Spencer Hawes later in the draft if Oden or Hibbert aren't there. Maybe because we traded down, or some other reason.
Guys, he's only a freshman and is considered one of the best offensive center's in college. He has some mad post skills and I think he would compliment Okafor's defense well.
