Gerald Wallace stated after the win last night that the team still sees the playoffs as a realistic goal. Just for the fun of it, they're 4.5 games out with 6 left, what do you think guys? I usually lurk more than I post so forgive me if the "P" word is forbidden around here, lol.

we blew it in the first 3 weeks of teh season, and during the Okaforless losing streak.
without those two bits, we'd be in there.

Not to mention that beautiful 0-6 west coast swing which goes along with your mentioning of Okafor's injury. I think next year will be a disappointment if we don't get in

Agreed on that. I think if we had Okafor the extent of the time, we would be in the thick of things.

I think it's our 7-21 start to the season that hurt us the most.

We can only overtake Nets and Magic mathematically. We have 30 wins with 6 matches left, while Nets have 35 and Magic have 34 wins. Magic are on freefall, so if we hadn't got matches against Heat twice, I'd say we could stand our slim chances. Also Magic will play against Grizzlies and Bucks. So unfortunately we'll finish this year on April 18th.

hopefully the players wont accept a losing mentality around here, and id much rather them keep hungry for that playoff chance. Next Year

I can't blame the guys for trying to win of course, and Hermann has been a truly wonderful surprise to come out of this; but .. I can't forget all the crap this year with Okafor's "injury"; May's "injury", Primo starting, Felton at SG, ... some truly god-awful stretches of games...it was so bad that after while I was truly looking forward to the draft for that next great rookie pick up...hoping the Cats would give a decent show in games, but in the end .. well .. lose.

Now that's pretty much blown, unless we are exceedingly lucky. Its a big dissapointment for me. I truly thought they must have been tanking because the coaching seemed so bad. Well I guess not!

So playoffs .. very remote chance. If we win out our games (including 2 against the Heat) all the Magic have to do is win 2 of 7 with games left against the Grizzlies, Bucks and Celtics...very remote; which is a shame because we're probably better right now than all the other teams in the east except maybe Toronto, Detroit and Miami.

So why the HELL are they talking playoffs now, instead of earlier? If they are serious now then they should have been playing for it in Jan. and Feb. too.

My other frustration is the lack of communication about the injuries. I didn't understand how Okafor could be out so long with a strained calf, and I don't understand why May isn't playing. I was at the Raptors game where they pulled Okafor out during halftime. I watched him on the bench in the second half in street clothes laughing with his teammates as the game (and the season as it turns out) went down the the toilet. The team's communication on these injuries is lousy; so excuse me if I don't trust what I don't understand.

..and AMMO sucks..that was a wasted pick. We should have Brandon Roy on our team. I knew it then and its true now.

Thanks for the vent...go Cats! Win Anyway!

123, you've nailed it. If we need to win out to get it done. As much as I'd like to see them in the playoffs, it aint happening this season.

i dont know what your talking about with sean may... any informed bobcat fan knows that sean mays knees are done and he may never get to play back to back games again. its been widely reported and talked about on this site constantly. and okafor stayed out so long to stay healthy. you dont rush your best player back out onto the court when your 5 spots out of the playoffs and 8 games behind. you keep him sitting until hes completly healthy. thats just common sense.

and when you cheer for the team to tank for the slightest possibility of a better ball in the draft... i question your fandom. in the words of Herm Edwards. YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME.
