yeah i know, let it go right. Ive brought up KG about a 100 times on this site. I just feel like he is the one player in the NBA or the Draft that can take this team to the next level. and now as reported in the NBA rumors section of ESPN.com The knicks are looking for a trade for KG next season.
"Thomas can't, and won't, say that because of the NBA's "thou shalt not verbally covet another team's player" mandate. But with Garnett staring at the math of a third straight non-playoff season, one small hint that he might want out -- and like an ambulance-chasing lawyer -- Thomas will be at his doorstep. --
so tell me, would you want KG or would you hate the idea of a trade with KG.
and then give me a possible scenario. you can bank on KG wanting out of Minnesota (at least for this threads purpose) and you can bank on Minnie letting him go.

There'd be no way that Minnesota would let Garnett go without us losing Okafor, Crash, or Raymond, or a combo of those players with draft picks thrown in galore too.
I think Garnett wouldn't want to come here, and would want a more win it all now situation.
On another note, if we trade one of our young guns/draft picks, Garnett will be 31 in March. Give that 4 years, and Okafor, Crash, AMMO, Raymond, And our draft picks will be entering their probable prime. Garnett will then be 35, and while he's impressive on a lack of injury history, he's put on some mileage.
I love the guy, would bring fans and might help us get 75% of the way, but by the time we're built to go 100% of the way Garnett will probably be broken down, wearing down, or not the dominant force he was when brought in here.
Love the guy, just too much to lose for the future.
Garnett can't carry a team in his prime, he can't carry this team @ age 31 giving up the players we'd give to trade him.

i would not take garnett because he is past his prime and would comprimise the future of the team. like bump said okafor, wallace, felton etc would be gone as well as draft picks. miami got lucky parting with their young nucleus to get shaq, but once he's gone, the heat will be done for (even with wade). garnett is a great great player, but he would not bring us a title so i don't think it would be worth losing our quality young players just to make the playoffs and maybe win a series. i think we'll make the playoffs next year with our current team and whoever we get in the draft and free agency

Yes. Miami lost Caron Butler, Lamar Odom, Brian Grant, and a 1st rounder. That's a tough one to consider for a long run.

Kevin McHale is now officially listening to offers for KG.
add that to the fact that when i called for my season tickets i asked the guy if he had any insider info, on free agents or trades for like Kobe or KG, and the guy said that Jordan loved KG.
add that to the fact that we are about the only team that could straight up afford KG.
add that to the fact that we havent brought in but maybe 2-3 players that would be acceptable at the 8th spot
i smell a trade...
BK, Sean May, the 8th pick and cash consideration.
trash the idea all you want.... not one person can argue that with Okafor and KG we would have the best front court in the NBA...
couple that with an above average backcourt of Ray, Ammo, Crash
and thats a very very good team IMO...
sorry to bring it up again, but everytime i read a KG trade story i get pumped... what do you guys think... is it possible??

I'm like you buddy, I think it would be sick to get us a KG. For some reason though, as someone else pointed out on here earlier, I just don't think he would want to come here. Call me a guy who lives in the past...but do you guys remember Kobe's view on playing in Charlotte when he got drafted?....ugh! Are we that ugly guys? What's so unattractive about playing professional basketball in Charlotte? Maybe with MJ here it seems more reasonable...I sure hope so.

Just to clarify, I was only mentioning Kobe as a reference...hehe...allegedly :g:

haha kobe did give us the royal middle finger when we drafted him. and for that reason alone i wouldnt want him here either.
If Kobe goes to New York, then the bobcats will win a championship before he does...easy.
But with MJ here, a solid young core (much better than Minnesotas core) and a fresh new coach... i dont think basketball in charlotte has looked this promising since the headband year.
all i know is... when you play in a terrible climate. a crappy fan base. a completly incompetent owner and GM. on a team that has absolutely zero percent chance of improving while your salary is involved. and has zero chance of threating a Title.
I think playing for a team in a much milder climate, (still weak fan base), a 6 time world champion owner/manager, and 100% chance of improvement and at least a 20% chance of an eastern confrence championship...sounds a whole whole lot better.
from KGs standpoint... anything is better than Minnesota. its a bad deal him being there for both the team and him.
the best offer they have gotten so far is Boston would send Al Jefferson, Gerald Green, Sebastian Telfair, Theo Ratliff, and change to Minnesota along with the No. 5 pick in the upcoming draft. In exchange, the Celtics would get Garnett.
think we can beat that??? i dont know that i would want to on second thought.

Must im like you something is up. And i would love to have K.G. but only as a sign and trade. We cant take a chance on just a year and then hes gone. What ever is in the works has got to have the eight pick involved just because of the players we working out. I all so think B.K is in the mix to because of all the comments being about his staying around. Something is up, but i dont if its K.G.It would make a hell of a front court.

KG would be great, I really love his passion on court. Any place would be better than Minneapolis, OK, but aren't there any better options than Charlotte? Also we can't offer a package similar to Boston's because it's giving half of the team. If Minnesota don't accept it, it'd be clear that we have 0 chances.
