If you had to put a percentage on it, what would you say are the chances that Gerald Wallace leaves the Bobcats?
For me, I think its about a 40% chance that he leaves and a 60% chance that he stays. I put the chances of him leaving so high because there may be some team out there that will offers him a contract way above his market value, or we may hire a coach that for whatever reason Crash decides that he doesn't want to play for.
What percentage do you give it?

25% because Bernie will be involved in the talks as the GM, is one of the best if not the best players on the market based on age, potential, and what has already been accomplished, and is very loyal for us giving him a chance by getting him off the Sacramento bench.
I see us getting him for a fair value, but we'll pay more than anyone else will for him, mark my words.
Slim to none IMO. The only reason he'd leave would be for personal reasons because we'll pay him what he wants. He loves being the superstar!!!

Its unpleasant to think about, thats for sure. Because if Crash leaves, then this franchise takes a step back.

He wants a Championship. Unless the Bobcats get the top pick, he's gone, as he should be.

Are any other teams better equipped then we are for money, talent, and a team on the upswing? I doubt it. Orlando is one of the few teams to be able to offer his salary, and will definitely be eclipsed by us next year.

No championship team can afford Gerald wallace right now.
i think he will be next year and i really hope he is. he is very grateful as bumpus said to bernie because he took a chance on him from sac-town.
i am worried though because every time i turn the tv on, or check my email, they are tryin to unload a wallace jersey for dirt cheap.

LOL that's exactly what I thought when I got that email, "My God, they're selling off his clothes!"
For sure, losing Wallace would be a big step back, and would tell me in a way that this franchise can't keep great players. A very bad precedent.

ALl I can think about with not being able to hold onto great players is Tornto with T-Mac, Golden State with multiple players, and the Clippers with Elton Brand and nearly every other all star in the league it seems like.

i'd say 20% chance that wallace leaves. if wallace wants a title, he'll be coming off the bench. he would not start on dallas, pheonix, san antonio, detroit and miami. if he wants to be "the man" he needs to do it in charlotte, thats why he should stay because he will be the first scoring option on a team that should make the playoffs next year.
and the bobcats could give him any amount of money to stay (they have enough cap space for a max contract and a few mid level exceptions). if i was wallace it wouldn't be about the money but how much i could contribute. he'll be getting $50 million at least, so 5-10 million more shouldn't make a big difference

45% he leaves 55% he stays...wallace had a heck of a year and lots of teams are going to try to sign him

this is geralds first home and hopefully he wants it that way and try to surprise people with his skill and help us win a championship. each year we're getting closer, just maybe the new season, we can finally hit the playoffs and go somewhere. we were 3-5 games away from 8th seed? not bad

If Crash was 2 or 3 years older I'd worry more about him wanting to win a ring; as he's only 24 he should still be of the mindset that he could ride with an up and comer and get there that way.
He's team captain...and this is HIS team. He's been thru the 18 win season, the 26 and now the 33, and more than anyone else he has to see the growth. How could he not want to stay a part of that. Remember...his team. Where else would he get that?
My biggest concern is Bernie and to a lesser degree BK. If you guys haven't noticed Crash & BK are very close (Crash always refers to BK as a great PG...always sitting beside each other on the bench, etc.). I could see a slight to either of those two as pissing Crash off a little. Would it be enough for him to want to leave? That's one of the questions.
We won't know til after July 1st...which is the first date allowed to talk to FAs.

Bernie will still be there, he just won't be the coach.
Brevin might stay, it's either him or McInnis...
