Winning coach of the year. Does this make anyone more excited about the rumors?

I'm still not that excited but if the rumors are true, you could certainly do worse than the reigning NBA coach of the year who improved his team 20 plus wins in one season. Theoretically that would put us at 53 wins and tied for the best record in the Eastern Conference. even with 10 more wins this year, we would be around 4-5th best in the East. Hes young, recent player, distinguished, his players love him... sounds like everything Jordan described to me. Id still rather have Charles Barkley, but ill take Mitchell.

Did anyone watch many raptors games this year and did they love what they saw from Mitchell? i dont think i saw but a couple. and cant really determine.

Coach of the year should be Bryan Colangelo, not Sam Mitchell. If he hadn't added that very essential pieces to the team, Mitchell would have been still sucking.

Sam Mitchell isn't the coach that I want either. Prior to this season he was voted as the worst coach in the league in a survey of 248 players. I'm sure that he had something to do with the Raptor's wins this season, but I believe that hes getting too much credit for their turnaround.

yeah, probably because we want to have THE coach that would bring the bobcats in the NEXT playoff season, not some coach w/ recent success this season.

i'm definitely not buying the idea of him being the coach next season. brian coangelo still owns 70% of sam mitchell's award this season. :-\

i would agree with that, but bickerstaff did a fine job. considering the injuries (okafor,wallace, may) over the past 2 years and a lack of players the first year. i don't think phil jackson would have won that much more than bickerstaff did
