View Full Version : Why have the Bobcats not picked up Herrmann's option yet?

From what I've heard, Walter's option hasn't been picked up by the Bobcats yet. The way he played in the last part of the season made me think he would be resigned right away. Is there anything to worry about or are the Bobcats just taking their time? I know his contract expires June 30th which is still a month away but it does worry me a little...

probally just wanted to see where we picked in the draft.....
even as solid as he played near the end of the season, hermann wouldnt be worth a damn thing to the bobcats if we have small forwards consisting of Wallace, Morrison and Durant.
now that we know we cant get durant... he will likely be signed to give us back up behind Wallace, and we will probally go after a big guy in the draft.
our starting lineup could be this come the draft. Felton, Morrison, Wallace, Oakafor, Hibbert.
Mcinnis, Carroll, Hermann, May, Primoz.
It may not sound as spectacular as having Oden or Durant in the lineup... but its better than we were this year already.
Not even mentioning free agent pickups.
good solid management if this is what they are doing.

Is that b4 the draft or after? If it's after then I'd guess they are waiting to see what unfolds then, trades or maybe Oden slipping to 8th(lol). Hey, if Brady Quinn can fall all the way to 22nd after being picked to go 4th and maybe even 1st....It could happen. It's about as possible as Oak hitting more 3's next year than Ray Allen,Redd, and the rest of the SG's in the nba combind but it could still happen.

Only difference is football has a ton more positions to fill, unlike basketball with its 5.
I can remember Gerald Green falling to 18, however....

the draft night will be held on the 28 of June, 2007.
so that's two days after the draft...
now i'm worried if someone could lure Fabio out with the bobcats during this time and june 30.
i think that if we won't have him back it would be a blow to our run next year since he a valuable player ever since he started playing big minutes...
GOT TO SIGN FABIO! :-\

Most likely to see what draft position they get.
They'll resign him.

If Jordan and Bickerstaff don't re-sign him then thier idiots.
Herrmann is a straight baller. We need him on our team.

I dont dislike A.Anderson . But i think Walter had a good end to the season. He also has earned at least a back up role next year . I all so think hes one hell of a value for what he will be making. Not many teams have a undeafted player thet has the skill and the value thet Walter has. Its no way we dont pick up his opt.

Let's not get too excited about him, he did most of his damage against teams when they were already out of the playoffs, or already in them and resting key players. I heard Toronto is intrested in him, which means at least somebody else believes that he's gonna be good.

oh i definetly wanna keep the guy on the roster.... with more experience and confidence the kid could be stupid good with those freak bannana hands of his.
Im just saying lets take it easy, hes no Jordan yet, and hes not a starter as far as im concerned.
I dont get people wanting to start him, especially when they say start him in the PF spot.

I think he's better then Sean May who you seem to always suggest as the starter at PF. To me, he plays PF very well (And SF for that matter) in such a strange style that the defense doesn't quite know what to expect. I would rather keep him at SF and move Wallace to SG but he can play PF rather well...
Just my opinion anyway.

Relax, he's obviously going to be back next season, they are probably discussing whether to pick up his option and take a chance on him hitting the market next year or offering him an extension now.
Both sides probably want to wait until they start seeing some of the other offers out there on similar talent so they can decide their best course of action.
