... is being discussed over here at AOLSportsBlog (http://www.aolsportsblog.com/2007/05/29/could-the-bulls-trade-ben-gordon-to-the-bobcats/). The premise is that if Gerald decides to leave then it would better for the Bobcats to get something instead of letting Crash walk and getting nothing in return.
I hope like Hell that we can get Crash signed, but if he decides to leave, then I can live with having Ben Gordon on the roster.
Thoughts?

I would seriously NOT like that trade, but i'd rather get Okafor's former teammate than nothing. Maybe we could trade Wallace for Paul Pierce instead, while taking Wally and the contract off their hands as mentioned in another thread.

Steve Smith throwing crap at the wall to see if it sticks again. I don't know why they'd want another SF (Crash isn't a SG) as they have Noc & Deng...plus they're pretty high on Sefalosha (sp) to fill in at the 2 slot in the future.
I can think of worse we can get if we had to lose Crash...but I'd rather have him over Gordon.

Ben Gordan is good player, but no way I take him over Gerald.

I'd love to get Ben for Crash if we can some how get Brewer in the draft that would be the defense we would lose in Crash and we would gain a potential go to scorer in Gordon.

IF we had to lose Crash then I would like the idea of getting Gordan in return. Still would rather have crash though.

it wouldn't hurt us that much if we get Gordon, assuming that crash leaves, and i also read somewhere that scott skiles is not so sold on him as their SG on the long run. :g:
i still don't want to think that crash is leaving the team though... :(

I still think Paul Pierce would be my pick.
Ben Gordon should instead be picked up by draft picks.

i feel like gordon has topped out. not much else to look for in him. Crash is a better player, and why in the world would Chicago want crash. they got to the playoffs with Deng as their SF, i think they are ok in that position.
And about getting Paul Peirce, thats a side step from Gerald. sure hes better offensively but hes older, and doesnt play with the intesnsity on defense that Wallace does. overall i just dont think we need to trade people just to trade people. Offer Crash a solid maybe a tad excessive contract to keep him here, rather than giving our cap away for wally, and peirce.
just makes more sense to me to spend our excessive cap on the core players in our own program rather than letting teams in our division get a cap break so that we can get a few more points per game.
If the Celts, Knicks, Hawks and the like want to go spending up their cap, hamstringin themselves.... then i say let em. It will only make it easier for us to sign quality Free agents for the forseeable future. under no circumstance do i think the Bobcats should offer cap for mediocre players, especially when it helps out our rival teams.
