The Bobcats had workouts on June 9th. And hear are a few instering staments he made after the workout.
1. He said our bigest needs are a inside scoring threat and a point guard.
2.He said we had solid point guards but decisions are being made on B.K.coming back. Humm kinda smell a trade hear.
3.He all so said he thought the team is solid at the 2 and the 3 positions. I thought we were week at the 2 position.Mabe a free agent is coming in as a starting two i dont know.
Vincent didnt seem big on Noah . He said he runs the floor good but strugles with his shoot. He liked a kid i have never seen or heard of from Alabama Jermarco Davidson a 6.10 230 pound foward. He said he had the best work out of the day . He could run the floor and had a nice in side game. Doe anyone have any ideas on his statements or about the players. Thoughts

as far as a SG in Free Agency goes.
when i called to relocate my season tickets a couple days ago.... i asked the guy if he had any inside news on free agency or draft.
all he said was that Jordan was very interested in getting Rashard Lewis. and that he loved his scoring and thought he would fit in well. and he also said he like Joakim Noah.
take that for whatever you will i guess.

Must , this is one year i have no idea whats really going on.
What i wrote was on the BOBCATS site. But from the players being brought in and the statments being made i have no idea whats going on.Im all so begining to think the Bobcats have no idea in hell whats going on. Does this mean we go with a point with our first pick. Who are all thease guys we bring in a lot of them is not even in any mock drafts.

i read something today that was interesting... Joakim Noah stated that he used to hate MJ and was a big Knicks fan.
REASON # 2043 not to draft Joakim Noah to Charlotte.

To expand on Dav7z post:
However, unlike original Bobcats coach Bernie Bickerstaff, who said he placed a premium on NCAA championship members like the franchise’s first three first-round selections Emeka Okafor (Connecticut) and Raymond Felton and Sean May (North Carolina), Vincent clearly downplayed the significance of Noah being a two-time NCAA title-winner.
“That’s not going to factor into what I’m looking for,” Vincent said. “I’m specifically looking for guys that can play into what I think our weaknesses are on this time. And if the guy won a national championship, that’s great for your college career. But that doesn’t necessarily mean you’re going to help us in what we’re trying to do.”
http://www.gastongazette.com/onset?id=5620&template=article.html
Choosing a power forward might seem an odd move for the Bobcats, considering they have Emeka Okafor and Sean May. However, May has had injury problems that some team officials link to poor conditioning.
Noah and May are as different as two players can be at the same position. May is highly skilled and fights a weight problem. Noah is sleek and energetic, but his skill level is in doubt. His jump shot is an ugly two-handed push shot that didn't look dependable Saturday.

By the way, any news on May's conditioning??

Krispy Kreme stock has been stable, so I doubt that Sean May has lost any weight. :)

It's starting to seem that this draft class isn't as deep as analysts would have us believe; Oden and Durant are sure things, I'm fairly certain, but if Brandan Wright is the third best player in the draft, that's somewhat alarming. This is coming from a lifelong Tarheel who was present at a handfull of home games, and the two tourney games in Winston, and he can be spectacular, but he is no Marvin Williams (an absolute beast as a Tarheel), and Marvin's been a very slow start, much like the other 3 Heel '05 heroes. That said, I'd love to be able to add him to the Bobcats, because I actually believe he is the 3rd best player available, but the point is that the talent pool becomes more and more muddled after the big 2, and with us at 8, I have no clue who we should take, or who would be the best fit. The only thing I can come up with is the process of elimination:
1. As has been echoed by others, "Say No to Noah." All style, no substance, with not any tangible upside that I can see. It pleases me that Vincent isn't keen on the guy, but it worries me that MJ is intrigued by him, because it's MJ's decision.
2. NO point guard. As much as I'll always love Raymond for the '05 championship, and as much as I wanted to believe that he was the better PG than West Forsyth alum Chris Paul, he just doesn't look comfortable running the point. Still, if we address the PG situation at all, let's do it through free agency; if Mike Conley II, is the best available, that says it all. If Acie Law is still available at 22, which is highly unlikely, maybe, but I'd rather do something else with the pick.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but I sort of wish there was a way we could get Jared Dudley. For y'all who've seen him play live, you should know what I mean: he's a fierce competitor who just somehow finds a way to get his hands on the ball, and make a big play when it's needed. He also has range, which is necessary due to his size. I understand we need help at 5, but considering most of the talent out there is analyzed on potential, why take an iffy big man (Sean Williams, Gasol, the Cal guy) when you have a proven "red-ass" competitor whose motivation and desire to win won't be questioned.
Okay, before I get laughed off the site, let's turn our attention to #8. I'm like the majority of y'all, I hope to see Corey Brewer. He was the only impressive player, in my opionion, on the Florida dynasty. Still upset about UNC's collapse against G'town, I didn't watch much of the Final Four or championship, but Brewer was the one player who I thought would be an true impact player in the NBA (okay, Horford too). I think his skills can be refined by the coaches (ball-handling=Phil; shooting=Lee Rose), but his tenacious defense will be present from day one.

Nice post!
In response to that, I've watched Conley and he has been impressive (I live in columbus, saw him @ a few practices and home games), I think he needs another year. Oden should go, Conley and Cook should stay. Conley did fantastic in the tourney but will take longer to develop, which isn't a sure thing.

+1
On Raymond, I think this will be his breakout year, and was voted the most likely to break out this year (by the board :P). 3 years to succeed @ UNC, 3 years in the pros we hope and pray. MJ is impressed with him and has shown flashes. With Vincent coaching this is his make or break year on if he is the future.
That's why I think we oughtta aim for Javaris Crittenden @ #8 if Brewer, Horford, or Yi are gone. As indicated by our insider info about Jordan/Bernie thinking he is the next Chauncey Billups, why not draft high on him if he's the guy we REALLY want? He's a point guard that can has the size and skill set to play both positions very adequately, albeit he is a pass first player(hence the billups comparisons). He also made the rest of his team better the instant he was on the court. You can't teach that. He also has passion for the game which is unrivaled and is fearless. He has the heart and play of a bobcat, and can play run and gun or half court sets flawlessly. I think he is our best option if Brewer is gone and whether PG is a concern or not.
So on obtainable players I have:
1. Brewer
2. Crittenden
3. Nick Young
4. Rodney Stuckey
5. Tiago Splitter (heard all about his amazing potential for past few years)
6. Marc Gasol - got the size, genes, and talent is there.
In response to Jared Dudley - I haven't watched him play, but if he's what you say he is he'd be considerable, except for the fact we have Matt, Wallace, Fabio, DA, Adam, A. Anderson (hopefully he'll be upgraded). There's just no room for him, and he's projected to go early-mid 2nd round, which we don't have a pick in there. From what you say he sounds good, but we have a boatload of players that play his spot already on contract or near locks to be resigned (GW, Matt, Walter). I also think DA will be sticking around. I'd say he could replace AA, but he's too good of a player to fall out of the draft, and that spot will probably be filled via free agency(hopefully a bigger guy).

Very nice post and welcome to the board. Im a big UNC fan but i dont think Wright is the 3rd best player in this years draft. I like Hartford and Yi and mabe even Brewer, Conley and Thorton. All those might go befor him his stock is droping. I agree about Noah with you and Vincent , His shot sucks. I hope Felton comes around this year and i think he will if we get rid of B.K. I tiink Vincent knows that too because thats why he wants to get rid of B.K. too.I agree with you about Jared Dudley hes as hard nozed player as the come. The only problem we got is so many 3s its not funny. But he will make someone a damn solid player.Good post and welcome once again.

I agree with Bumpus about Felton. I think this year he'll finally break out and have 16-18 ppg and 8-9 ast year.
Reguarding Wright, I don't think he's the 3rd best player in the draft. I think Horford and Yi are better than him. Horford has a more NBA ready body and Yi is easily a better scorer than him. Wright's a good player, just not as good as them.
In my opinion the first 5 picks should be Oden, Durant, Horford, Yi, and Wright. In that order.
I like that Vincent isn't that worried about keeping BK. We just need to TRADE HIS ASS ALREADY! Also about Dudley. He's a really good player, but I hate him so bad. He always seemed cocky to me. He pisses me off.

Nice list Bumpus but I'd probably put Nick Young at the 2 spot over Jarvis.

I have to keep this quote within shouting distance, just to show you that me and MJ think alike. Whether or not that's a good thing is yet to be determined.
If he turns out to be as solid as I thought then and think now, I want this post visible so I can revel in my genius......or jeered at in shame if things don't quite work out :P

With all the Dudley Love coming from some of you, I must fluff my ego by making this post viewable once again :P It's only a matter of time before I'm asked to become a scout by the Bobcats; I'll just sit by my phone and wait
Only thing, if Dudley has a slow start I better be prepared for y'alls wrath; maybe Mustachio can give me some pointers on taking up for a pariah on these boards!

my advice... dont do it. haha its not that bad. im really just trying to temper everyones thoughts. If Ammo is terrible after his contract is up then ill be the first to see him off. But i just dont think the first year is enough evidence to write a dude off. same thing with Dudley. This day and age everyone wants something now and wont wait for it. So i understand the Ammo hate, just trying to make sure we dont go over board and start writing people off in training camp ya know.

And the effort going into said lack of defense.
Did you guys know Ammo smoked?
- Bobcats swingman Adam Morrison. Morrison not only chews tobacco, but smokes cigarettes -- rare for NBA players.

Vincent should see if he'll quit cuz that's gotta do worlds of difference on his conditioning, especially if we're going to run day and night.

If its a daily thing, then you're right, he needs to give it up.
