The inevitable thread about Shawn Marion.

Hes all but gone from Pheonix and most likely landing spot is Chi town right now.

SO, hes obviously a good player that is gonna be consitent and a low post threat. His atheletic ability coupled with strong defense would make him a formidable threat down low teamed up with Oak.

However, his shot is ugly as ive ever seen, and he plays with the best PG in the game right now that may be making him look better than he really is...

So is he worth a look? i dont really know what all we have to offer pheonix that they would even want at this point except for cap space and getting bad contracts off their hands. I dont really want him here, but if were looking for front court players... we could probally do worse.

I think that Marion is one of those guys who's numbers get elevated by playing with Steve Nash. He is good, but not good enough to get the type of money that hes going to be asking for.

Ever seen him play without Jason Kidd or Steve Nash? It's PATHETIC!!

He's overrated, and is one of those guys that has never created his own shot.

I will give him that the defense and boards are not affected, but that shot...

Pass. His stats are padded by the Phoenix offense and always having the best PG playing with him over his career, nash or kidd.

I fully agree that hes not as good without a PG... but Ray aint no slouch.

i definetly dont want him... but we would get him in a trade, so whatever his salary is right now (still too high) thats what we would pay. his contract runs out after next year so whoever gets him has to pay him this year and then try and keep him.

not worth it.

I fully agree, but he's no Nash or Kidd...yet. Hopefully this is a turning point
