There is hardly any news leaking out from the workouts, but if you find any be sure to post it or link it here.
I found this interesting article on a workout that Brandon Wright and Joakim Noah had with the Celtics

I know we worked out Noah and some others on the 9th, but are we working out any other players anytime soon?

I sure hope we do, we worked out one first round pick. Noah, and nobody seems to want him at 8 so..we've worked out nobody.
We have to have something up our sleeve with the 8th pick or we'd have been saying something by now. Don't you guys think?

draft express has us bring in Major Wingate, and Corey Brewer today. We all know about Brewer, but for those who don't know Wingate he was kicked off the Tennessee basketball team for a failed drug test and played last year in Turkey. I see him as a project at best again. The only shot he has is a dunk, and he's not much of a defensive threat. All this ofcoarse is coming from draftexpress.

Thanks for the update JM7. I wanna see how Brewer's work out goes. I've only heard of Wingate a few times, don't expect much from him in his workout.

I hope so, draftexpress said in another workout he hit 70% from 12 to 17 feet and 60% from 3pt rang. They also said that wasn't very good? He was also told not to play to hard and risk injury and he dove head first after a lose ball that was going toward the weight lifting area. Sound like anybody we know? I guess those numbers aren't that hot because he was unguarded but the also said he had an extremly good work ethic which is something we always want.

Nice job on the find Jonathon. It's surprising those numbers aren't good. Was it timed, or was he just able to take his time?
I like the work ethic and know he's better than that. I think we'll also judge him based on workouts from elsewhere.
Just remember, Brandon Roy had bad workouts and look how he ended up.

We worked out Brewer, Thorton, and Young. We we're supposed to work out Green to but he didn't make the trip to Charlotte.

To update on Brewer, the Sam Vincent said this:
The other thing that really stuck out was his(brewer's) shooting ability. He has a real nice shot from the outside, and he also demonstrated the ability to shoot the mid-range shot. He gets to the 14- and 15-foot sweet spot, and he can really elevate and get that shot off. That’s a little bit of a lost art in today’s game, so that was nice to see.
(On Corey Brewer’s ability to create his own shot)
We feel like he can create his own shot. He’s got good ball-handling skills and a pretty quick first step. When a guy can shoot it as well as he does, then the defense really has to close out, and that creates an opportunity for him to get by guys. So, we really liked some of the things he did today.
I wonder what MJ thinks?

Sounds like both players would be a good fit in Charlotte.

I think MJ knows that Brewer is the perfect fit for this team. Good outside shooter. Offensive game is improving, and a great defender. Well, maybe that's just what I think.

Good find Dave!
How do you guys feel about Vincent talking about the 6'7" Thornton as a power forward.
Unless he is the next Larry Johnson or Charles Barkley, then I'm not comfortable with that.

yeah, i'm worried about him too. Hopefully this relieves people if we do draft him, from nbadraft.net
Does a great job of getting rebounds out of position thanks to his leaping ability and foot speed
In the bobcats article, Thornton lists himself best fit as a 3.

draft express has a list of all the scheduled workout for all the teams. I was looking at it and saw that we had about 9 or 10 guys coming in, I sure hope we bring in more. But the warriors, jeez they are working out over 20 guys! I know the don't pick in the same area buy I wish we'd workout that many. You just never know when you'll find that diamond in the ruff.

I know...why not workout people if we are going to have spots?
diamonds in the rough...hmm...Matt, Walter, Hollins (potentially), crash, primoz, Alan Anderson, Brevin, DA....come to think of it, a large amount of our roster came out of the scrap heap, and it has turned out pretty well....

Look at Vincents comments on the Obverser I hope to God we take Brewer at 8 he has all the things he says he wants to make the Bobcats into especially on the defensive side of the ball.

No, you're not alone in thinking that. Those were some good sound bytes (are they considered sound bytes when you're reading them? :g:) I liked how Vincent indicates that he will continue with the Bernie-mold of having the Bobcats be a D-first team. That segues seamlessly into Corey Brewer whom, I think it's safe to say, is Vincent's preferred player (and a lot of ours) at this point. I was impressed by a alot of his answers, specifically his knowledge of the Bobcats and what kind of team they are. I get the impression that, though he would rather be drafted earlier for the obviou$ rea$on$, he would be thrilled to be a part of the team, and understands that he would play a significant role in the playoff push. Then again, maybe that's just what I think!!

i read somewhere a couple days ago.. that vincent said they intend to bring in 20 or more guys through out the process...
i dont think theres any need to worry... were gonna work out enough people by the time its all said and done.
what i am interested in thouh is, do we have any plans to work out Yi. if he falls to us by chance and we havent worked him out do you still take him???
horford, Yi, Brewer... drafting one of those guys is the only way i can see us as having an A+... after that its a drop down to a B.
Wallace15

I hope to God we workout Yi, because you never know. He could drop to us(unlikely) but he could.

I have not heard of any Bobcat workouts for Yi. But i heard hes doing open workouts for instered teams to come and look at him. As much as i like Brewer i feel like we will be making a big mistake if we let Yi slip by us. I all so read by doing workouts the way hes doing them will hurt his draft stock and he might fall as far as us.

brewer im hoping...falls to us.. but if its a question of brewer/Yi.

Had 3 more workouts today. Jared Dudley from BC, Hebbert Hill from Providence, and Chris Richards from Florida.
I like Richards. He's underrated. If he wouldn't have been playing behind Noah and Horford people would know alot more about him.

3 other players we worked out. Carl Landry from Purdue, E.J Drayton from UNCC, and Ivan Radenovic from Arizona.
I haven't heard of Drayton or Radenovic, but I have heard of Landry.

Charlotte.com is reporting that Brandon Wright had a strong workout with the Bucks. This is what they had to say
"For a young kid, he just came in with a presence," said Dave Babcock, the Bucks' director of player personnel. "He's only had one workout (with Boston), and he was right into it."
Wright, who left North Carolina after his freshman year, followed the energetic prodding of Bucks assistant coach Bill Peterson during an hourlong workout.
The lean and athletic player showed a nice touch on jump hooks and short jumpers, and after a difficult start at the foul line the left-handed shooter began sinking his free throws.

That's actually a good thing. I've seen a lot of mock drafts that have Brewer going to the Bucks. So if MIL is high on Wright and he's there when they pick that's one more spot Brewer falls closer to us.

Joakim Noah refuses to workout for the Bucks (http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/playerbreakingnews.asp?sport=NBA&id=1361&line=82797&spln=1)
I guess the idea of playing next to Andrew Bogut for the perineally mediocre Bucks doesn't fluff Joakim's ponytail.
"He and his agent made a decision it wasn't a workout they wanted to do," director of player personnel Dave Babcock said. "We would have liked him to work out, but everybody has their views on each situation." Noah already has gone through workouts for Chicago, Charlotte, Minnesota and Boston, and he has workouts scheduled with Memphis, Sacramento and Atlanta. It's apparent that he doesn't want to be drafted by Milwaukee, which is curious since the sixth pick seems like the highest spot he'd be taken.

that sucks... thats one more team in front of us that isnt gonna draft Noah now. hes an idiot... if your Jo Noah.. your ass better jump through any hoop they tell you to or your ass is falling out of the lottery. i hate that guy.
now thats one more player like brewer or Yi or someone that will get picked instead.
have i mentioned i hate Joakim Noah yet.

Well today's rumors shows Brewer a no-brainer virtual lock to the Bucks at 6 and the Wolves going for Spencer Hawes. Somebody has got to drop to us, probably Conley or Yi. But, barring any creative trades, no doubt Joakim Noah is going to wear orange next year. We better start getting used to it.

Keetch... I fear that you are correct. I think that we're going to be looking at a choice between Joakim, Hawes ( I think the T-Wolves are bs'ing about taking him at 7, Jeff Green and a 6'5" PF/SF Al Thornton ). None of those choices sit well with me.

Give me Jeff Green or trade down for Jason Richardson.
I think we'll be better off then we think, and somebody will fall to us.

NBADraft.net is showing today Thorton moving all the way up to the Bucks at #6, but still shows us taking Noah at #8, with Brewer sliding all the way to the Kings at #10!
I'm telling you now, there's no way Corey Brewer slides past us if you base it on Vincent's comments about him, and compare them to the comments on Noah. I guess Thorton must have wowed Milwaukee at their workout to move up that far in a few days....

I heard that he had a great work out with the Magic I wish we would have brought him in with the Corey Brewer, Thorton and Thad Young group last week.
