CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte Bobcats coach Sam Vincent completed his staff Wednesday by hiring former NBA center Paul Mokeski as an assistant coach.

The 7-foot Mokeski played 12 seasons in the NBA, including a seven-year stint with the Milwaukee Bucks. He most recently served as a scout with the Dallas Mavericks and an assistant coach with Fort Worth of the NBA's developmental league.

Mokeski will join Lee Rose, Phil Ford and Jeff Capel on Vincent's bench. Vincent was hired to replace Bernie Bickerstaff last month.

Vincent said he chose the 50-year-old Mokeski to help groom Charlotte's front line, which includes center Primoz Brezec and power forward Emeka Okafor.

"We have a lot of confidence in his ability to make our big guys better," said Vincent, who worked with Mokeski coaching the Mavericks' summer league team.

I dont' remember this guy, but I might as well not complain and have trust in the new coach until he gives me a reason not to.

Last year's staff:
HEAD COACH Bernie Bickerstaff
ASSISTANT COACHES John-Blair Bickerstaff
Gary Brokaw
Jeff Capel
Gary Kloppenburg
John Outlaw

Now becomes:
HEAD COACH Sam Vincent
ASSISTANT COACHES Jeff Capel
Phil Ford
Lee Rose
Paul Mokeski

A very very deep alter in coaching staff. Hopefully it'll work fine.

I like the makeup of this staff much more than last year. I'm not saying that they were a bunch of stiffs... but it was close.

It's a good upgrade, I like Capel.

Any news on J.B? I think he did well in bernie's absence and deserved a spot somewhere, even if it's not an assistant job.

""Timberwolves basketball coach Randy Wittman will be watching draft-eligible players work out at Target Center in pain after recently suffering a back injury while playing golf. ... The word is the final coaching hire for Wittman's staff will be either J.B. Bickerstaff, the former Gophers player who was on the Charlotte Bobcats coaching staff last year, or Greg Ballard, a former Wolves assistant.""

He might be on the verge of another assistant job.

Well I'm glad JB got a job...he wasn't too bad other than the DUI.
