Charlotte Bobcats President and Chief Operating Officer Fred Whitfield announced the Bobcats new broadcasting teams for the 2007-08 season on Friday, highlighted by 36-year broadcast veteran Steve Martin.

Joining Martin on Bobcats telecast will be Henry Williams and Stephanie Ready. Williams spent last season in a dual role as the Bobcats radio and television analyst. He will begin his first full season as color commentator, while Ready enters her fourth season as sideline reporter. This past offseason, Ready worked the sidelines for TNT’s coverage of the NBA playoffs.

With Martin’s move to the television booth, Scott Lauer will now take over play-by-play responsibilities of the Bobcats radio broadcast. Lauer has been part of the Bobcats radio broadcast team since its inception.

I don't know anything about him. Thoughts?

Same here, I know nothing about him. I am glad that Devlin is gone though. He was annoying as hell. Williams is alright and I'm glad Stephanie is still our sideline reporter.

you will all soon realize the greatness that is Steve Martin.

he was the radio and tv guy for the Hornets, and is absolutely a great commentator. lots of energy, great calls, and he is a homer through and through.... exactly what we needed.

you cant expect people to tune in to your NBA franchise television when they two guys commentating have nothing good to say about the team ever.

Mustachio is dead-on! He's got a very distinctive voice, a dry sense of humor, and is very familiar with the NBA game, and even does a few ACC games for Raycom/JP (so he knows his basketball in the Carolinas). Also, he's definitely a homer, which is great, but not so much so that he's naive to a bad Bobcat performance.

As for Henry Williams, they could've found a better replacement for Adrian Branch (who actually started to grow on me this year), but he did radio with Martin, and a good job at that, so I understand the need to keep that relationship together. Kudos to keeping Stephanie around; I'm a borderline chauvinist when it comes to females reporting on men's sports, but he knows her stuff, is cute, seems to have a good repoire with the players, and was an NBDL coach, so she's one of the guys as far as I'm concerned.

Overall, an upgrade.

I think I would have a good rapport with her too if I was a Bobcats player
