Mornin guys,
I just wanted to say thanks to whoever created this website. I was beginning to think that there were no B cat fans on the net. Now I can squash that feelin!
Anyways, who do y'all think will eventually end up putting their name on the arena? I think it's high time that somebody steps up to the plate.

Thanks for the compliment EdRow! We've been around for a year and change and have steadily grown.
There are a whole lot more Bobcats fans out there than people think.
Lots of them local and some from as far away as Canada (Big Slam), Turkey(Tamburello) and the Phillipines (Tadz) :)
Welcome aboard, We're glad to have to have you here!

You echo my thoughts, Ed. I've done my best to preach to the masses the fun of Bobcats basketball, when, generally, the rest of the NBA is sorta flat (Re: The Finals). Anybody who says, 'I don't watch the NBA anymore; it's fulla overpaid prima donnas,' (or something to that affect) I say, 'I agree, that's why you should watch the Bobcats play: they'll blow your preconceptions out of the water. They hustle, play as a group, and are just fun to watch, as opposed to the majority of the other teams who just go through the motions (i.e. Clippers, Kings, Celtics, Knicks, Hawks, Grizzles, etc.)'
I've turned on a handful of people to the team, but still, it's nice to have a broad group of diehards to complain and celebrate with!

Very true. Not too long ago I talked with John Delong, a sportswriter for the Winston Salem Journal, who indicated the same thing: there is a large group of diehard Bobcats fans out there, most specifically in W-S, but in the state and beyond as well. As any Journal subscriber knows, the coverage given to the Bobcats is nowhere near as thorough as that given to the Hornets, and John is as upset as any fan. He has season tickets, but the Journal, because of cutbacks, chooses not to dedicate a beatwriter to the team. This is both good and bad: The former is that the lack of coverage has no correlation with lack of interest; the bad is that those who are still turned-off to the NBA because of the Hornets, will more than likely remain so because of the sparse coverage. Instead of getting player profiles and quotes from players/coach after the game, there's simply a bold print heading in the NBA section, with a generic AP wrap-up with boxscore.
That said, success will, I believe, breed interest, and this year has great potential to be a very successful season.

yeah ive noticed that the W-S journal did a better job last season than the charlotte observer.... the observer has this sarcastic tone and kind of underlying doom tone when they right about the bobcats... as if they arent a real team or something. and the Journal usually gives a good read.
The bobcats fan base right now consist of the few people in this area who were NBA starved enough to watch anything. and a few Hornets holdovers. and like the beagle said success will bring more fans, we just get to rub it in their faces that weve been here the whole time.
