From Real GM

State Warriors offered Jason Richardson and their 2007 # 18 Pick to Charlotte for the # 8 pick, if Jinlian Yi is available at # 8.

Charlotte is so far under the cap they could just accept J-Rich without having to send a player back.

I am not a Charlotte fan, but I am wondering, what are your thoughts on this "rumor," and who you might like at # 18?

This would be the perfect move for us at 18 we could still get a player with a lot of potential. Just look at the players Nick Young (Could be a top 10 player in the draft if it wasn't for other team needs), Javaris Crittenton (Could be the next Billups type PG you also know how great it would be to have a bigger PG on our squad as well), Thad Young or Rodney Stockley. Not to mention we get a potential all star in J-Rich without giving up a player on our roster.

Of course it's all about where Yi goes hopefully he falls because I for one would do this move.

Thoughts?

i think your right... i think jordan would make the move too.

I just think that building your team around atheletic C's and PF's is the only way your gonna hang in the playoffs.

i dont think anyone would argue that if Yi is as good as advertised, then hed be better and more valuable than J-rich.

I think if Adam steps up, and we draft Yi. then a ray, ammo, crash, oak, Yi lineup is more promising than a ray, j-rich, crash, oak, primoz lineup.

but i know that is a big IF, and Richardson is already a sure thing. (plus i love his attitude and desire, seems geniuine to me.) could you imagine the dunking lineup we could have.

Ray (can be pretty nice)
J-rich (dunk contest winner)
Crash (so nice)
Oak (power)
Hollins (freak)

thats the all dunk lineup right there

Let Ray here you say he dunks "pretty nice" and he'll slap you. He can get his whole arm up to the elbow in the rim! pretty nice...understatemnet. If Yi were availabe I'd rather have him than J-rich. Richardson isn't going to want to be here, Yi won't have a choice.

Very impressive lineup there

Honestly, I think we oughtta go with a different lineup, which I'll discuss in a post on the main board.

If Yi were available on the board @ 8 I'd trade him for J-rich and the 18.

@ 18 they have Stuckey, Crittenden, Splitter, Gasol, and many others. Hell, one of the lotto guys could fall in our laps, as one or two always seem to drop down to there. We could even move back into the lottery by packaging the 18 and 22.

It'd take me a week to dl all of those on this antique and 56k. I've never seen Ray in his HS dud's. He get's higher now. but I will always love to watch him slam. Now if he can just get his jumper going....

I'd rather have YI.

PLEEEZ people STOP projecting Primoz as our starting Center, please just stop please, I can't take it anymore....put Okafor at C and May or "to be determined" at PF, but goodgodalmighty lets not ever use the words "Primoz" and "starting" ever .. ever

If May could stay healthy and play 60 games I would be happy.

Okafor @ Center would be a nice fit, and he is better than most of the other guys.

PF is easier to fill - Herrmann could fill it. For Free agents you could get Jamison, Varajao, or many people in the draft. Center? think again.

no... we have a huge problem in the front court i think its by far our biggest need.

it would be nice to say that Hermann could fill the PF spot. and offensively he may do just fine. But he cant play defense on guys his own size, so hows he gonna stop any one of the other 29 PFs that are bigger than him.

I think any offseason moves, should be directed to get ourselves another servicable big man. be it PF, or Center.

Back to the GSW trade:

This potential trade with the Warriors may have legs...

1. Higgins is just recently out of there and knows GSW
2. Yi is PERFECT for the SF Bay area; really he'd be huge. The Chinese community there is probably the biggest in the US(?)
3. Not sure the Warriors value JRich as high as the rest of the league. They've been up and down with him. Therefore the 8th and 22nd for JRich and the 18th would likely be acceptable.
4. The Celtics are the wild card; I can't confirm but I just don't think they're really interested in Yi. Could be Bill Simmons burned that one with his post-lottery-trauma article where he kind of indirectly dissed Yi as the unwanted consolation prize for losing Oden and Durant.

For us, he adds a nice veteran Athlete to our backcourt, instead of a rookie. Richardson's shooting pct. could be better (low .400's), but he's clutch and exciting to watch.

All-in-all; I'd make this trade yes, but only if we fail to land Brewer. I'd still take Brewer for defense + offense.

i think that we have the worst position imaginable.

IF and only if someone like Yi or Brewer falls to the 8th spot.... would we have any bargaining chips to trade with. no ones gonna trade J-rich to us, if the only players left are Al thorton and Noah...
and IF and only if some like Yi or Brewer falls to us at 8... would we be happy about drafting them.

so basically, we better just get our hopes calmed down, and get ready to welcome mr. Joakim Noah to YOUR charlotte bobcats.

come on, you know you guys are excited to see what our frontcourt can do when Mek and May go down for a stretch and we have to start Noah and Primoz together! i wanna cry at the thought of it.

Right now, I would have Voskul start over Primoz. I don't know why though but I feel like Primoz is going to be real good this year. Maybe not starter but at least a solid back-up.

Also, having Noah start at PF would be less effective then have Morrison start there (In my opinion). I hope more then anything we don't draft him.

Herrmann did great last year on defense at PF. The only time I saw him not be effective was against the Rapters.

Serviceable could mean Anderson Varajao....

Herrmann would do well, as he has crash and Okafor to help him.

Vincent saying he sees Al Thorton more as a combo 4/3 power forward instead of a 3/4 small forward says a lot to me. Think about it, Vincent wants to run so playing either Hermann or Thorton at the 4 won't be so bad. If you put Emeka on the opponent's best low post scorer, then we might be all right with Gerald coming over from the weakside if they try to take advantage by moving the ball. It all depends on how the draft falls.

It's rumored on Yahoo that Milwaukee might trade the #6 for Richardson and the 18 if Yi falls that far. That lineup would be dangerous and I would not want to play them...Redd and Richardson :o

that would be a nasty combo,

but if that happened, that would increase our chances of getting brewer, however i'd rather have richardson

Redd and Richardson on the same team just sounds redundant; and at both player's high salaries, I doubt the Bucks would do this. They have a great opportunity to pick up Brewer or Green for better rebounding, defense and overall balance. And of course they need to resign Mo Williams, or they're screwed...

dvdbumpus

If they lose Mo Williams, they'll probably go for Conley.

Milwaukee's potential lineup:
PG: Mo Williams
SG: Redd
SF: Richardson
PF: Charlie Villanueva
C: Bogut

SICK!
