Iv'e read some things yall have said about garnett, but i have an idea...ya might not like it but just lemme know what u think

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?players=307~440~2776~3016~261~1018&teams=9~16~16~16~30~16

Charlotte gets- Garnett
Minn gets- Morrison,May,Knight,Richardson, 18th Pick
GS gets- 8th pick, Othella Harrington

We are still able to keep our 22nd pick and get Daequan Cook, Marco Belinelli, Taurean Green, or Morris Almond. Just look at how strong our front court would be! This is what our line up could look like next year

C-Okafor
PF-Garnett
SF-Wallace
SG-Carroll/Herrmann
PG-Felton

I know we would be trading 4 players, but carroll and herrmann are better than morrison and othella is a scrub...an we would be getting one of the best players in the league...KEVIN GARNETT

Now as for minnasota...if they got rid of garnett, they would need to rebuild. They would look like this

C-Blount(Take Hawes w/ the 7th pick)
PF-Howard/May
SF- JRich/Morrison
SG-Davis
PG-Foye/Knight

And they now have the 18th pick to get whoever best suits their team

As for Golden State...they have the 8th pick and can get the man they have been wanting this whole time...Yi Jianlian...if they want somebody to take JRich's contract then they must take a guy like Othella

I think this is a win win for all teams but then again im sure some of yall will hate the idea...just lemme know what you guys think...This could only work of course if Yi is not taken within the first 6 picks

I'd do any trade for KG as long as we don't give up Okafor, Felton or Wallace.

I'd do that deal without any reservations.

Welcome to the board Jaxatax23 :)

thanks ziggy... minnasota would prolly want more, so we could also offer them our 22nd pick. That means on draft day, they would have the 7th,18th,22nd, and 41st. If you ask me, that sounds pretty good...they could easily package those picks and move up if they wanted to. One great player and 2 picks OR 4 good players and 4 draft picks?? Thats what minnasota would have to ask themselves

i like it but were givin up too much. i think Ammo is gonna get better, im still holdin hope.

how bout this...

Charlotte gets - - Kevin Garnett, Minnesota 2nd round pick
Minn gets - - May, Knight, Richardson, Primoz and the 18th pick
GS gets - - 8th(Yi), Othella

Charlotte loses - May, Knight, Primoz and the 8th pick
Minn loses - Garnett, second round pick
GS loses - Richardson and 18th pick

our roster
Raymond, McInnis
Ammo, Carroll
Crash, Hermann
KG, second round draft pick
Okafor, Hollins

i think its fair

o id be fine with that to happen, im just concerned about minnasota wanting more b/c here's what i just read on SI.com:

Latest Kevin Garnett trade rumor: The Wolves send the 31-year-old all-star to the Suns in a convoluted three-way deal with the Celtics that includes Shawn Marion going to Boston and Minnesota getting the No. 5 pick from the Celtics, plus several young players. The Wolves already have the No. 7 overall pick in the June 28 draft. It's unclear, though, how Garnett's $22 million salary would match up for the deal.

I agree with Mustachio. We would be giving up too much

Minnesota would be hard pressed to get a seven footer, a young PF with mad scoring ability, a very solid back up PG, and one of the top 7 or 8 SFs in the league, from any other team.

the celtics deal is crap compared to that list

Jax 23 welcome to the board . I would love to have K.G . It sounds like a good teade too.
But how would it affect our salery cap. With us having to resign Wallace and OK5O and FELTONS contract coming fast can we afford to morgage the house to buy a car. Just some thing else to think about in making that trade.

Don't forget that Garnett can opt out after the upcoming season.

Sure hate to give all that up for a one year rental.

yea i 4got about the fact that he can opt out after a year...that would suck to do all that trading for one year...i guess minnasota would have to resign him to a new deal and then trade...iono

im just tryin to think of a way we could get a star in charlotte an somebody who could help us start winning right away...what other players could u see us trading for???

I'll pass. I like Garnett but they would get a higher trade value from a team closer to winning a championship(Chicago). I don't think that Minnesota would trade him here, and I don't want a 1 year rental from a player that almost certainly would opt out and get a bigger contract from Charlotte....I could see a larger market team sweeping him up....Dallas, NY, Chicago, even SA would splurge, and we would be left in the dust.

We would mortgage our future on a guy that while talented would set this team back a few years in the long run.

Think this: Would the cats' win the championship in their 1st year together? 99.9% no. Give it a few years most likely, but Garnett will be too old, regressing, and on another team by then.

We shouldn't abandon building from the draft so quickly, and I believe Morrison will turn things around like Mustachio said (hopefully).

I like Garnett, just don't think it'd work here in Charlotte as much as we'd like it too.

Gasol. I'd really like to see us go all out for him. At first glance it looks like we can't offer a lot and still keep the core, but don't overlook that we can offer something others can't, which is mega capspace.

Id do this trade in a heartbeat but it would prolly take one more player to get KG

Great point, spectre. I'm with Bumpus, it would be nice to see KG in Charlotte (I've always been a fan), but it's not practical for KG, or for us.

first of all if this trade were to happen it would be in a sign and trade deal only... no one is gonna trade for KG until he gets a deal.... no one. period.

secondly, you guys act like giving up May, Primoz, and knight is a lot to give up... in my opinion it would help just to get some of that off the team regardless of who was brought in.
and if our draft pick only yields Noah... then not one person can look me in the face and say that giving up May, Primoz, knight and noah for FREAKIN KG... is a bad deal... no one. we dont lose any youth or substantial talent, and we gain the big ticket... i just cant see this as a bad thing.

thirdly... Ray, Ammo, Crash, KG, Oak.... is unstoppable in the east, and would give pure straight hell to the western conference finalist whom we would undoubtedly see. so, Bumpus you say 1% chance of winning a championship with that lineup, id hate to see our chances in the next few years without KG.

Must like i said i like the deal but idont know if we can afford it. Isnt a salery cap around 53 milion.
If k.g. makes 22 milion we resign Wallace for 10 milion a year. And we would have to resign OK50 to be good all so at about 12 milion a year. Feltons contract is coming up say hes worth 8 milion. Got to resign Carol at about 5 milion. Walters contract is up next year too do we try and resign him. Just those five players puts us over the salery cap . What do we do with the other seven.
I KINDA THINK IT PUTS US IN THE SAME PREDICKMENT thet Minn is in now, I just dont see how we can resign all the players we need to go with K.G.

i totally agree with you dav about the salary... no doubt its tough to keep together KG, Crash, Oak and Ray.

BUT great teams have to do it and its not impossible to get contracts worked out in your favor or the cap favor... and if we go a bit over the luxury tax but go deep in the playoffs, whose gonna worry about a few dollars right.. haha.

also dont forget. in giving up Primoz(2.75), Knight(4.4 iwanted to cry when i saw that) and May (1.75 and higher once resigned) your getting rid of 10 million dollars right there, and you dont have to have any money to sign new draft picks.

so if we are over 25 mil under the cap right now, add to that 10 mil in released contracts... plus figuring out a way to get Othellas big ass outta here.. that would leave us approx. 38 mil under the cap.

resign oak for 12, KG comes in at probally 20 mil on a new contract and you got plenty of money to add onto Crashs contract already at 5.5 million dollars. so hes really only gonna soak up about 5-6 million more.

believe me, it can be worked out and in a way that wouldnt necessarily cramp us up like minny.

just food for thought.

If we could work out contracts and not hurt keeping our core players for the long haul i would like to have K.G. But i dont want to sacarfice OK50 , Wallace, or Ray, And i would like to be able to keep Walter and Matt
I guess the rest could be just filler players with small contracts . I DONT KNOW ENOUGH ABOUT THE MONEY SIDE TO KNOW.

haha im just grasping at straws here trying to make something big happen, dav thats all.

i want everyone to know, im perfectly fine with the team we have now and just getting some drafted players in here at 8 and 22. I love the way weve gone about the franchise so far.
however, there will be a time where we have to branch out and make a splash, and im just testing the waters in my own head and then running it by all you guys to see if im crazy or not.

if we go into the year with the same starting lineup, i still think we will be in the playoffs, and ill be happy with it.

im just tryin stuff, because A) im a season ticket holder and want to have a packed crowd with rabid fans like back in the hornets days and B) a little national attention goes a long way in gaining fans and prestige among players..

I would love to see that place packed and wild like the Hornets was befor shinn started sticking it to the fans like he did with Zo , LJ. Kobe trade etc.
So far the Bobcats seem to be building and with the great coaching moves made so far this year i look to see us in the play offs. With just a few player moves and smart draft picks we could be contenders in the east this year.
This team is not that far away...........
