I dont recall a topic on this guy yet so i started one.
weve been talkin about free agents and what not for awhile.
but its been about scorers.

since this draft is so deep in SG's and SF's... why not try and get Darko. He looked good in his playoff stint, and hes still really young. like 22 i think. hes already a tough shot blocker, and has a better offensive game than okafor.

im fairly positive we can get him for around 5-6 mil a year, and orlando will now have a harder time keeping him seeing as how they just signed howard to a huge deal.

Darko
Okafor
Wallace
Ammo
Ray

then at the 8 draft the BPA, and 22 take any one of the spectacular shooters available. wed come out cheaper, and if Darko can just get some coaching and a little fire in him, that would be a formidable frontcourt.
It gives us both draft picks and a young 7 footer who is coming into his own, and has already started carving his niche in the league... thoughts?

The Magic are big on him to.I read some where they would match any thing hes offered.
But you and i both know they will only match money so high. I all so think he would like to start .Charlotte would be a good fit for him.
I just don't know if six milion gets it done.
Is he worth that. It may take more.

your right dav. is he worth that
i just looked up his stats and they arent bad from last year....

however i then looked at Primozs stats. and aside last years crummy run...
primoz's numbers looked damn good... averaging 13 ppg to Darkos 8

rebounding 7 rpg to darkos 5...

hes not nearly as good on the defensive side but he had a lot less TO's too, if Primoz can get his fire back, and play like he did in the starters role he started at... i think we might be overlooking our Center.

i mean i can literally remember going crazy that we snagged this slovenian dude in the expansion draft, while watchin games at the old coliseum. maybe the Pillow has got some bricks stuffed in his pillow case for this year. id like to know what Vincent thinks about him.

Jamison isn't a free agent but he has a player option which I don't see him taking...who else is going to give him 16.4 million next year? If we get him it will probably be the next season.

Orlando will match up to 8 or 9 million per (my guess). They gave up this year's pick and it wouldn't be smart for them to let Darko walk the same year Detroit gets that. Besides, even if they give Darko 8 million they're still around 10 million under the cap which could very well make them a player for Crash (I see them pushing harder for Lewis though).

good insight there spectre... another words.. we better hope Primoz turns it on again this year... cause darko isnt gonna be an option if we wanna keep Crash...

the thought of Crash going to Orlando teaming with Howard Darko and beating us for the next 4 years cannot happen.

at this point, ATL and Orlando are our rivals, cant give them anything.

And Milwaukee...I've really been worried about them.

Primoz offensively doesn't bother me so much other than he can't catch a pass unless its laid into his hands, and even if he does catch it he can't take it straight up when underneath the basket...he always has to get set first, which usually leads to a block.

Defensively he's about as bad as it gets. Maybe they can teach him now since we've brought in some actual player coaches...but he has a long way to go.

On a side note...hate to break to you Mustachio as I know you're a big advocate of Yi, but in Ford's blog today he said that IF Milwaukee or Minnesota drafted Yi anyway that he would promptly demand a trade. On his side is his rights are still owned by a Chinese team and they can just refuse to let him leave. That can't be good for any chance of him winding up in Charlotte.

ahhh never underestimate the power of Jumpman 23.... if he tells the Chinese government that Yi would succeed with us... they will listen.

I'd like Darko but he'd be too expensive for us...maybe. I don't think he's worth 8-10 million a year but that potential is just awesome.

I don't really want Darko... he is ok, but for the money we would have to pay him he would just not be worth it. I think we can get someone a lot better at 8 and someone close to or even as good at 22, so, I'll pass...

Give me Yi or Brandan Wright, and either will be better.
