This is a good read about Yi . It may give you a better idea if we want him or not. I read some stuff i didnt like about him and some i did .The idea of China pulling him out of the draft if he dont get to play for a tean they want him to pisses me off. I dont like his party attitude either . I dont know if i would take him now or not . Kinda sceard to take him now. Thoughts about this long link.

As I posted in another thread, Chad Ford says he's hearing that Yi will demand a trade if either Milwaukee or Minnesota drafts him, and I'd have to think he'd do the same with us.
Shame too, as he probably is the 3rd best prospect in the draft.

After reading this artical .I think thats why we not even going after him. It just pisses me off when some one or some thing controls whats going on in the draft like that. Hell if he dont play for who drafted him bar him from the whole damn league. Players make to damn much for the fans to put up with attitudes and favortisom from friggen rookies.

i think the kid is gonna be a star. i dont see one problem with him except the chinese government. im holding out that liitle strand of hope that says, with Jordan on board and loving his game, then the chinese government would be ok with Charlotte.... but i have no idea what Jordan thinks or the Chinese think because our newspapers around here dont report on anything important like that.
I think he would fit nicely into a running scheme with okafor at center. with those two down low, wed be tough to handle i think. especially with vincents international experience and similiar attributes to Dirk whom vincent worked with last year.
If we are able to select him and we dont, i will be highly disappointed. behind Horford, i think he will be the 4th best player in this draft, and that really is saying something.

Must i agree wit you about the kids play and i would love to have him in Charlotte . Who knows he may turn out to be the best player in the draft. But what i dont agree with is the goverment being able to decide who the guy plays for. NO mater who drafted him he should be just like any other player in the draft. He should have to comit the first contract with that team. IF him or his goverment decides not to let him play for that team . Then he dont play NBA ball til he fullfils that comitment. Things like that hurt pairty in the league.

Couple of things:
1. I don't think this is much of a reflection on Yi's character. His quotes (as translated by the interpreter) suggest he sees himself as just one piece within in a team, and I think he feels that way both on the court and in getting drafted. That being said, I think he'll listen to his people. However, ultimately I think "his people" are just posturing.
2. The Chinese would get some serious bad coverage if they made Yi force a trade. That kind of thing would transcend the NBA and make international news. No, it wouldn't bring on any kind of international conflict, but it would be the source of talk radio and blogs for a long time, making China seem like the closed, state run society that they're trying to shed of late. Plus, we have Jordan and international banking in Charlotte. I think it would work out.
If he's available, let's draft him!

Ok, after reading this I am absolutely assured they Charlotte Bobcats are not going to select this young man, only because of what kind of PR nightmare they could have if they drafted Yi, and the government won't let him play here. The Bobcats have just now generated some real interest in the community and they aren't going to risk messing that up.

Well good thing the Chinese speak the same language as Americans... $$$... Pretty much if you spend it on him and you have a city that can get him a little fame that would get him even more money, the Chinese won't really care. I don't think we should shy away from this guy at all, he is a top 5 pick that could end up with us simply because of fear and need.
Throw in his offense and great style of play with Okafor and we have a top low post for many years to come, IMVHO.
I also don't think the Chinese Gov't. would have too much of a problem with him coming here bc the city is a great up incoming city with a lot of money. The team would be perfect for him. He would get the chance to be the face of the franchise of tomarrow, a team that if it lives up to it's potential should really run the east for many years to come. I really think Yi would fit in great here and would actually like to come here. All he wants is money and exposure, both are things he can get here.
