View Full Version : Bobcats trying to make a deal?

I read on RealGM that the Knicks rejected a deal that would send Crawford, Lee, possibly their pick(23) and maybe another player. Someone says on the bobcats board on RealGM that the Bobcats were the team. It makes sense. The Cats are the only top ten team that would be able to afford them. I am kind of glad that the deal didn't fall through but I don't know. ???
I also read on RealGM that the Nets have offered the 17 and Nachbar for the doughboy(Sean May). If they did offer that I want that deal accepted. May will never get healthy. It says in the newspaper today that he is still hurt. ::)
What do you guys think?

I wouldn't do the first deal, but I'm all over the second deal though. I'm not real sure why the Nets would want to do that trade, but if they want May then I'll take that deal.

I would trade May in a second along with a dozen Krispy cream doughnuts. And buy his food for a year.

nachbar is like not a consistent player, which is what we need. he would just take up space but that 17 is tempting.
not sure though. we would have to make another deal or move before i would take that though

At 17 we would probably miss out on a player like Nick Young though I'm sure Thad Young or Javaris might be available though.

I wouldn't do the first deal but I would be all over the 2nd... The 17th alone would make it worth while IMVHO... we could pick up a very good guard or big man that could be on the court more than May is... And the one thing I really like about Nachbar is the fact he started to show up last year around playoff time and he really became a major contributer...

I would do anything to NOT have Crawford on the team. Too expensive and can't shoot consistantly, ever. I like Lee though.
Nachbar and the 17 for Mcmay? I'd do that deal, then trade up so we could get Stuckey before the Pistons. GET STUCKEY! (Young would be a sweet pickup too)

We could defanitely move up a nice bit if we packaged 17 and 22, we could easily end up with another top prospect... I would love Thad, Stucky, or Crittenton... Shoot there is probably the possability of us being to deal up and get a top7-10 prospect that has fallen a little ways.

Wouldn't that take up our salary!!! :) lol
The 17 and 22 along with maybe Primoz or BK might be enough to get another top 10 pick!
Definitley I agree with you guys about trying to get Thad. It would be to late to get him at 17 or 22 and to early for him at 8.

I'd do May for Nachbar+17th pick in a second. Nachbar played successfully the second half of the season. He's entering his contract season and so he won't participate in the European championships with Slovenia to concentrate on his contract season. Send May and his 70 year-old-looking knees.
Do we have to trade up if we have 17 and 22? What about drafting Rudy Fernandez with 17 and Marc Gasol with 22?

If that's true about the Nets offer, I'm like everyone else, of course we take the deal, package 17 and 22, and then get who? We need one of those value pick charts like the NFL has to see what we could realistically get for those two picks. We could probably satisfy three needs if we stayed put, a shooter, big man, and point guard. Just in what order do we go to get it done?
I'd love for it to go Brewer, Crittendon, and Sean Williams, but I'd doubt Crittendon would slide past the Clippers at 14.

Ammo you have had some good post lately . Lets up your rep some. Iwas just thinking if Brewer and yi are gone and we trade down with the 76ers And TRADE Krispy Cream we would have the 12th 17th 20th and the 21st.
What in the world would we do then.
Trade all four picks for Durant ,LOL

lol, good one dav....I really think Sean May might be worth the 17th and Nachbar, and if we did that as well, you really have a chance to do something special in this draft.....just what that is I have no idea..
This draft has been the biggest in speculation in a LONG time, I haven't been this excited about the NBA Draft since the Hornets drafted Larry Johnson.

Wow!! You mean to tell me you didn't get pumped for the '01 Draft when the Hornets went with Kirk Haston?!?! Come on, man, he was a steal!
Now back to reality, you guys are great!! Your optmism and open-mindedness impresses me because all I can think about is Corey Brewer, Corey Brewer, Corey Brewer. I can stand Brandan Wright or Yi, but anyone outside of these guys is going to disappoint me. That said, I've set myself up for disappointment, while you guys are still firing-up the neurons thinking of other options such as Crittenton, Nick Young, Stuckey, Hawes, etc. Obviously, you guys would make much better GMs than I! Whatever deals are done, whether we are initially happy with them or not, let's just hope they pan out and make the team better......just not with Noah!!

I have to make an addendum to my previous post: I just finished reading the post-workout interviews with Morris Almond and Nick Young, and I've got to say I'd be pleased with either of those guys. Young appears to be as affable as he looked when I caught a few of his SoCal games on TV. Also, he's apparently good friends with Ammo, so that's another plus.

I'd be happy with that, though with Brandon available I think I'd rather have him...

Here's something that makes me unsure of Wright:
The word is that Wright is slipping on draft boards. Everyone loves his talent, but in workouts he's proven to be further away from contributing than many of the other picks in the draft. Combine that with concerns about his motor, and he could slip.
Obviously we knew this, but if he's even farther away then we thought, it makes me wonder.

Wright to me looks like a guy that is being killed by not being able to play in games right now. He isn't coming out as a workout warrior right now, and many did not expect that from him. See I judge him on his college days and he proved he can be a big contributor and has plenty of motor, which clearly showed up in his countless offensive rebound putbacks... Ofcourse this was against weaker competition than the NBA, but I think he is a top 3 talent, and to say we could land him at 8 would be insane.

funny that the comments on him are pretty much 50-50. the rest of the world sure knows him better now..

Sean May deal was rejected. The nets offered but the Bobcats didn't take. Maybe we have something else going on.

Indeed, Bumpus!! Also, DraftXpress has us picking him too! I honestly believe, as I've stated elsewhere, that if Phoenix stays at the bottom where they, like other playoff teams belong, and Minnesota doesn't acquire a second top 7 pick, Corey's ours. Now we just have to have faith in MJ ("God help you" say the Wizards' fans in unison).

Yea I've also heard people question his desire if he really wants to be great because he has a the potential.
