with this KG trade trying to get done for Phnx and them bringing in Atl to help get it done, why not bring us instead...I'd gladly take Amare and trade our picks in a heartbeat

because they have the 3rd and we have the 8th. I guess that's why at least. I agree though, I'd take that deal too.

glad i found it...huge bobcat fan, definately could see them being a BEAST in the EAST if they make the right moves this offseason...ESPECIALLY if they could pull the AMARE trade.

Atlanta has the 3 and 11. We can't compete with that.
I don't think Amare is anywhere in the cards for us.

I just hope none of these trades go through until after the draft. If Phoenix moves up, or Minnesota gets another pick, we'll lose out on anybody of any significant worth. If everything stays as it is, I think Corey Brewer will be available at 8; I don't think he's 'Top 5' worthy, and I don't think he fits Milwaukee or Minnesota's primary needs.

Garnett Deal Vetoed By Hawks Owner
June 27, 2007 - 11:28 pm
ESPN.com -
The three-team blockbuster among the Timberwolves, Suns and Hawks hit what is being termed "a major roadblock" Wednesday according to sources.
The Wolves have been making multiple calls to find a third team that can facilitate a deal for Garnett.
The Wolves would receive the Hawks' numbers 3 and 11 picks in the draft as well as several cap-friendly contracts. The
Hawks would receive Amare Stoudemire. The Suns would get back Kevin Garnett.
But one of the Hawks owners vetoed the deal and it now seems unlikely that a deal will be consummated by draft time.
The ongoing litigation that has engulfed Atlanta's ownership group has apparently crippled the organization's decision-making ability. [READ
If Minnesota is desperate would 8, 22, and May (or the 17th pick if we deal with Nets) be enough? If not then maybe 8, 22, May, and the 24 we can get from the Suns or Morrison?
Felton
Carroll/We need another SG
Wallace
Stoudamire
Okafor

I don't think Garnett would come here, which is the whole point of being traded. Garnett will play for the Wolves, but he wants to be on a playoff team. That's why he voted a trade to the Celtics, even though they have Paul Pierce.
I don't see any scenario where we'd get KG, as much as I'd love it.

I think we'd be getting Stoudamire instead. I would even take the bad contract of Marcus Banks or Diaw...
8, 22, and May
For Stoudamire.
Sweeet.

Taking Atlantas place might work . But it would cost . Ithink it would take 8, 22,, May, Morrison, and B.Ks .and Premos expiring contracts .
The Timberwolfs might bite on that.

if we could keep Morrison on that deal...or get Troy Hudson in exchange I'd be pleased...
heck we might as well ask em' to throw in Rashad McCants, since we'd be getting May back because he failed the physical

Minnesota has 12 players under contract, I don't thinking giving them 6 players that are so so to crap currently would never work.

They have actualy 11 contract at the moment(Eddie Griffin was released) While Garnett is going, they are dropping to 10. But of course they'd desperately want to dump us 1 or 2 ridiculous contracts, such as Jaric or Hassell.
Same sources say that in that ATL-MIN-PHO trade, they agreed to take 3th, 11th picks and Anthony Johnson and Zaza Pachulia as salary friendly contracts. In the same logic, we can do it with 8th, 22nd picks along with Brevin Knight and Primoz Brezec and additionally Sean May. BK+Primoz>>>Johnson+Zaza and we also give up May. If really they agreed that package, I think they should also agree this.
I believe if we work hard, we'll have a good chance to be the faciliator instead of Atlanta.

love it. but financially i dont know how smart it is.
we would have to take on Amares 12 mil per salary and then have to pay wallace and okafor this year. we would go from being super cap rich to over the luxury in a split second.
then again wed line up like this
Ray
Ammo
Crash
Stoudamire
Okafor
and would immediately contend for the top spot in the east... honestly.

yea i would love to have amare but the fact of the matter is this...3 and 11 pick or 8 and 22nd??? no way in hell they would trade with us...our picks are way lower than atlantas...but can u imagine if the atl-phx-minnasota trade went down?? minnasota would have the 3,7, an 11th pick...it would be great to be a wolves fan i no that much

I think it would have to be 8, 22, May or Ammo to get this trade done but I would do it without thinking twice.

If you'd like to build a contender, at some point you have to go over(maybe well over) the cap. Not all teams are directed by dumbasses like Knicks'.
This is where the "building through draft" strategy sucks. You maybe take the most talented guys during 4-5 drafts, and when their contract negotiations begin, you have to open your wallet. You have to go over cap limit anyway. You can't escape from spending money.
Or let me ask this way. Pretend you had Amare and his extension negotiations time came. Wouldn't you offer him nothing but maximum? I hate Amare as hell, because of his fucking playing style, but he is the prototype big man for the NBA's next 10 years. When we have chance, why don't we make a run? I'm sure Bernie and Jordan even won't think about calling McHale and just asking.
Our picks aren't as acceptable as Hawks' of course. But what we can do? Maybe add a 2008 first rounder to the current package. The rest is McHale's business.

all i know is. when amare dunks. he does so with authority. our front court would be one of the best in the league. youd be hard pressed to score down low... and if your a slow Center on any team in this league... you had better bring a mask, cause your gettin facials all day.

With just guessing salerys i think we would be siting abour right for a about the next five years
Stoudamire 12 MIL
Wallace 10 mil five years
OK50 12 Mil five years
Felton 8 Mil five years
Carol 5 Mil five years
That leaves 12 MIL for Morrison , Walter, and and the other contracts could just be fillers such as Hollin A. Anderson second round draft picks and undrafted free agents.
The NBA mim shuld go up some each year two.
Note Felton and OK50 dont have to sign this Year to asorb some of the crap we will be taking on.
